I'm usually really good at math, but I'm having a dumb moment. Help please!

I bought a house over two years ago and live in Louisiana. I'm moving soon and plan on selling my house. I don't plan on buying another one immediately. How long do you have before paying capital gains on the house? Also, if you reinvest the money in another house, do you avoid paying C.G.? Thirdly, How long do you have to buy another house before losing a capital gains exemption (if there is such an animal)?

Say you get sick. Your doctor says you have cancer and will die unless you take the medicine. However, your pastor says that god himself has revealed him that what you have is a Satanic curse on you, and to cure yourself, you must NOT take the medicine AND pray 1 hour a day. Who would you believe more? The doctor with the degree in medicine or the man that works directly with god?

If the arguement is that people are born homosexual and they have to live that way. Then wouldn't you have to say that a thief is born a thief. and if they are born with those tendences how can we put them in jail. they can't control their actions. A person can plead temporary insanity and if it is found to be true, is let go because they didn't have control. if a person is born to be a thief, does he really have control over his actions?

A quick google search will show you that there's a potentially Huge Gas Boycott being scheduled for May15th. Now granted, the problem is dependency, and how much gas you USE. I understand that even if sales fall %50 on May15th, they'll probably rise 100% on the 16th, cause now people are on Empty :-). Once again, the problem no doubt is DEPENDENCY. Never the less, I think Americans should come together, and excerise our Consumer Buying Power.

It's not going to change the world, we're not leaving Iraq on May16th. In order for that to happen, the 'Status Quo' must be changed, and that's nothing short of a Revolution. Trillions of Dollars are at stake, and they won't give it up without a fight.

In closing, we need to start concentrating on Cheaper/Renewable energies that are widely available. Water - Electricity - Magnetic - Helium3 - Hemp Seeds. The list goes on an on. Please Google 'Stan Myers' for proof, fully functional water powered vehicles have already been invented.

Why does it seem like in just about every sci fi feature if there not in hyperspace or something the spaceships seem to go about 30 m.p.h.? And in the vacum of space would'nt a huge carrier be just as fast and manurverable as a fighter?

Searching the net to find grants for personal needs/general living expenses everyone has a book to sell.Are there really any sites to go to to apply for grants for the above use? There are many people I know, myself included, who are looking for just enough money to keep their heads above water until they find a job.

I have a maltese that I know is AKC registerable. I bought him from a pet shop and the only papers that I received were his pedigree papers and his microchip registration papers. The AKC registration application was sent to the pet shop owner but I was never informed. It has almost been a year and the pet shop has been sold since then. I contacted the breeder and she had to go through the puppy broker. Puppy broker said they can't do anything without proof of purchase. New pet shop owner hardly speaks english and won't help out. Can I do something legally to get these papers? I don't want to but I want my dog registered.

are apples good to eat every day?? i have headr they are very helthy, but they are high in sugar. but i play soccer almost every day, so would eating an apple a day be a good and healthy thing to help fill me up?? but, then again i have a snack when i get home after soccer, so would the sugar in an apple still get to me and make me fat?? please help me!!!!

In the movie Spiderman 3, Spidey throws a goblin pumpkin bomb at Eddie Brock and the symbiote before they were about to bond together. Remember Spiderman separated them using his webbing after ultrasonic waves disrupted their bonding. well, did the symbiote and Brock die from the explosion because nothing was left following the bomb exploding?
