What is the Christian church's position on obesity in America? Is it reciprocity for sin (gluttony/sloth/corrupt commercial conglomerates)? I have an ignorant friend who believes that the AIDS pandemic is direct judgement from God for stereotyped promiscuity in the gay community. Do Christians believe the same for obesity?

If 0.780g of phenol is dissolved in enough water to make 500ml of solution, what is the resultant pH?
C6H5OH (aq) <--> C6H50 (aq) + H............Ka=1.3x10^-10

So here the solution..i understand the first half.

0.780g x 1mol/94.11g = 8.29 x 10^-3
8.29x10^-3 / 0.500L = 0.0166M

He goes on to write this equation..

(x^2) / (0.0166 - x) = 1.3 x 10^-10

I understand that the x^2 is b/c of C6H50 & H

Why is C6H5OH...(0.0166 - x) and not (0.0166 + x)?
is it b/c the product of the reaction always takes up something?

There's a diff reaction where: N2 + O2 <--> 2NO
ea. gas is 0.300 atm.

Since the 2NO is a product...it's 0.300 - 2x? Would it still be that if the equation was reversed to 2NO <--> N2 + O2 or would it instead be 0.300 + 2x since it is on the left side?

My question is basically...is the addition/subtraction of X based on which side the product is on or just on the product itself?

I am going to attempt to write my first novel (historical fiction). Are there any really, really good books to help out with this besides the one by Strunk and White?

I have a pretty good idea of what the novel should be like, storywise and all, but should I do the historical research first (not really a problem because I have a bachelor's degree in history) or do the outline first? How long does it take to work on an outline for a novel?

Thanks for any help and suggestions.

I'm 25, B.S. in biology. Will do well on GREs for sure (lots of studying until I'm ready). Don't have any extracurriculars (just not that type of person) although I might join a club soon.

From what I hear it is very competitive.. so I really don't see how I could get in especially since I don't have a bachelor's in psychology

Do I have a chance? Especially if:

1) I take a semester of psychology courses, the core ones that most programs seem to require

2) Do extremely well (95% or higher) on the GREs

3) Do well on the psychology GRE by studying for a few years for it

4) Join Psi Chi during the semester I take the psych classes

She is a very sweet woman and I admire the work she does on a daily basis, i usually stop in to see her once a week. Her work requires alot of her time so I never stay too long, she seems to be busy helping out friends on her own time. I've asked her out in hopes to get to know her better, she said we would at a later time as soon as she had some free time. She always is so sweet and caring, I truely treasure her but am terribly afraid of scarring her away. She is an amazing person, she has a smile that would melt your heart should I back off a bit to see where it goes? It amazes me how anyone could pass up such a wonderful woman, I would love to share some time with her just enjoying life and making her smile!!!!! what can I do????? help please!!!!!

If the same particle, the photon, is responsible for both transporting EM radiation and also carrying magnetic forces, why do magnetic forces travel through opaque objects? Are visibly opaque materials transparent to the magnetic frequency?

Is there any material that is opaque to magnetic force, such that placing a flat board of this material reduces the strength of the force between magnets at a fixed distance? Is there any such material that itself is not affected by magnetic forces?

I have tried everything I know to show her I will stand beside her regardless of what she faces, but can't get her to open up to me. Ok..I've posted this before, and while I got a lot of kind responses I never really got what I was looking for..so I'll ask again. The thing is I have what is called a hypnofetish.
