i live in nowheresville indiana and need to know where a decent place to go to college for such things would be.

Evergreen(washington) has a good arts program so I think that would include animation.
Simpsons created Matt Groeing went there.
But this is just what I hear from my brother.

Check your local area or outside your local area. There should be some technical and community colleges that can help you with your chosen field.

Check into DeVry. I know they teach this kind of thing for computer games, and I wouldn't be surprised if they did it for other milieus as well.
