Obesity is NOT a judgement of God. It is the direct result of eating too much (...digging your grave with a fork and knife.)

No. It is no wonder so many people hate christians and christianity..because so many christians like to 'preach' what they think is how God works..yet it is not in scripture..or they twist things..they make things up along the way. I am a christian..I spent years in a chatroom..and still visit a little..the amount of weird'christian' teachings in there defies understanding..and they will not listen to anything else..or read other texts.
AIDS is a disease like any other..just because at first it affected gay people, does not mean that God has had anything to do with it..He will judge all people on Judgement day as it says in scripture. Gay people are sinners just like the rest of us..and they still have time to accept Christ. People want to blame God for every disaster yet will not ever say that satan is the evil one running rampant on this earth today wreaking havoc..as the scriptures tell us..it always has to be Gods fault according to non believers..and so many christians want to make up things about God that they can show no proof for. Not..obesity is not a judgement from God. We are supposed to take care of our bodies..and gluttony etc is just a sin like every other..

When a child contracts AIDS from a mother who has a husband who was cheating on her and is merely suffering the consequence of gay promiscuity in the eyes of God then that God is not worthy of praise. I would also describe any person having such a belief as being morally corrupt and ethically bankrupt. Gluttony is suppose to be one of the seven deadly sins. Along with extravagance, lust, greed, sloth, wrath, envy, and pride it would seem most Americans would have some trouble with God. To simply say that we all sin is a cop out. No way does the Bible suggest that you are suppose to go out and sin your butt off and then be forgiven just because you are weak. Then again, any heaven with Republicans in it would be a hell. Maybe it would be best to live a life of virtue and deny God and just go to hell to escape all the "moral" conservatives.

Obesity like alcohol, and drugs is an addiction. Someone who is obese usually turns to eating as a way of coping with problems or issues that they are going through. Just like an alcoholic turns to alcohol. It isn't the right way to cope, but unfortunately, it is what they do. Obesity is a psycological sickness which needs medical intervention, prayer and faith. Remember, God can heal anything when you pray and have faith

Saying christians and "the christian church" is EXTREMELY generally seeing as their are many sects. However most believe that if you over indulge in food it is a bad thing and bad for your body. To answer your question most would say gluttony is a sin.

i don't understand. i actually think of it won't exchange. maximum Christians i understand are in somewhat advantageous condition, whether their bmi says in any different case. in terms of an time-honored i think of it will advance dramatically. in spite of the undeniable fact that, it incredibly is all under the thought that the Christians I even have encountered are a reliable representative pattern of all Christians in usa. And, that the rapture means all Christians pass, and actually everyone else keeps to be.

Well, I don't belive your friends AIDS theory. We all have choices and some choose unsafe sex while others choose to eat more than they should. Bad things happen every day to good people. It's sad when people are so ignorant (like your friend) it puts a really bad taste in your mouth for Christianity.

Well that's not really a church wide thing. it more depends on the person. Unfortunately, a lot of people, christian or not, will judge people on how they live. I have been taught that people should take care of their bodies, but not to judge and shun those people who are overweight or such. "hate the sin, love the sinner" is a good thing to memorize.
