A month ago I had a miscarriage and had a d&c. I was 9 weeks pregnant...just really good used to the feeling that I was pregnant and everything. I had fallen down the stairs and a week later I was bleeding. The doctor had told me everything was fine. But anyways....

Now it seems like everyone is pregnant. Three friends from high school have due dates right around when I was due in November. Three people at work are pregnant. And now...my best friend is pregnant. I'm so happy for her, but I just feel so sad. It's hard to listen to her sometimes...it just makes me sad hearing her talk about it.

Is there anyway I can try to put my feelings behind me and stop feeling so sad and left out around these people?

Helmets Right for you

“Children should always wear a helmet while riding their bikes.”
This common statement points to the fact that safety should be the number one concern in everything we do. Safety should never be an after thought. Teaching children the essential lessons when they are young is a safe investment in their futures. It should be obligatory to wear bicycle helmets, considering the amount of head injuries, sometimes fatal injuries in cases where helmets were not worn. The cost of long term care for head injuries is very high and could be prevented if helmets were mandatory.

By insuring that children wear helmets, we teach them that safety measures are being put into place for their own advantage. Just as wearing a seat belt in a car is mandatory; wearing a helmet while riding a bicycle should also be consistently mandated.

Choosing the use of helmets while riding a bicycle is a risk not worth taking. The danger to the child is not the only concern. In the case of a car- bicycle crash, there is the problem of insurance payouts and the like which will most probably be the driver’s responsibilities. If the one riding the bicycle had been wearing a helmet, the costs all around could be kept down, not to mention the reduction in losses.

Many children come from homes with very limited income. Although these families may be able to afford a bicycle, they are unable to provide a helmet for their child/children to wear. Mandatory helmet requirements also prompt organizations to help fund the purchasing of helmets for those who could otherwise not afford them.

In conclusion wearing a helmet is very important while riding a bike. It reduces the amount of head injuries, reduction in losses and lastly, mandatory helmets also prompt organization to help others purchase helmets of those who can not afford them. Wear a helmet, it will keep you going!

I am a Christian and do not go around preaching or pushing my opinions on others, but I know others do get "in your face" sometimes and this seems to annoy people and they don't understand why Christians do this.

Hear is something I have told friends before. Suppose you are a scientist and you discovered a cure for everything...literally everything (remember this is hypothetically speaking) in one pill. No one believes you, they tell you that you are crazy. You are positive that you are right. Now how far would you go to convince people about this cure? What would you do to save all those lives? Would you feel responsible to make others listen?

I believe this is how a lot of Christians feel, and they are willing to get on a street corner etc to tell others about their "cure". Is that so wrong?

So how far would you go?

I heard this somewhere, can't remember where. Anyway, the history of the world as we know it comes from those that won the battles and dominated. Our history is completely Eurocentric and doesn't take into account the important achievements or events of other cultures such as China, India or Islamic cultures.

As I see it, you can put Americans into two categories.

1, those that think the USA is just one of many countries which should not be placed at the top of the list but in alphabetical order after Uruguay but before Yugoslavia.

And then you have the Republicans.

Is that a fair assessment of them vs. us?
