I have nothing against them but some people think you are preppy if you wear them just beacuse they are a little more pricey and beacuse well most preppy people do wear them (not that i have anything against preppy people) but yeah thats what i think.

I don't understand how people can hate Abercrombie and Hollister either. I love that store, and I don't think their shorts are short at all. I think people should try on the shorts before they judge how short or skimpy it is. And I think it's better to have their jeans high at the crotch area than have it really low like other jeans. And A&F is actually more expensive than Hollister, A&F has shirts for $30 while Hollister and Abercrombie have shirts for $10-$20. And I believe employees are not rude at all, they are really kind and ask me all the time if I need help or when I'm in the changing room they ask if I need a bigger or smaller size and they run out and get it for me. And that is my opinion.

I hate them for what they have done. They have sapped originality and creativity from the fashion of my peers. I have seen people wearing "retro band t-shirts" that were being sold at Hollister and they have never even heard of the band! I may be able to accept the clothes if it wasn't what eveyr single person was wearing, but it fuels the clique and modern day culture in such a vile way that I have my reasons for hating them.
The clothes aren't too amazing either. You aren't paying those prices for the quality and fahsion statement of the clothes as much as you are paying for the tag and the label.
The Abercrombie shirts for guys are also really really jerky. You can sum up all they say in "I win. You lose. That makes me better than you. You can go die now."

I don't think they're bad if one likes mass-produced, overpriced clothing that looks like all of the othe mass-produced, overpiced clothing at the mall. Why would somebody want to spend $20 on a Tshirt to walk around as free advertising for the company? Why would somebody want to pay $80 on jeans that look worn and beat up? I have jeans that ARE worn and beat up that only cost me a few dollars at the thrift store.
I agree with the shorts and skirts being horrifically tiny and immodest. When I could fit onto the clothing, they were still too short. I'm almost six feet tall, so that is to be expected. However, I also have respect for myself and don't care to walk around half naked. That's the other thing-- I can't figure out why two little scraps of material costs over $25.
Besides, God only knows where the clothing is made and the factory conditions and what the workers go through just to support the materialism of the American teenager.
I'll stick with thrift stores. My money is going to a great cause. I'm not overspending. I'm giving new life to clothing that is already out there, and I'm very likely not supporting over destruction of the environment. Also, I create my own style.
Editied to add:
The shorts and skirts are quite tiny for a woman who is six feet tall. However, I can't understand why females who aren't eve 5'6" run around with skirts that barely cover their butt. It's not like at that height they would have difficulty finding appropriately legthed skirts. However, as I said, running around barely covered is not for me.

I hate them because they are expensive and discriminatory! Hollister more so than Abercrombie! When I was a lot heavier and couldnt fit into their clothes, they made sure to tell me so while I was shopping in their stores with my XBF, He has always shopped there, so we would go to different ones in different malls, and ALL were the same, its like an exclusive club....they are rude and unhelpful, I work in retail, if I were to treat a customer in my store the way they treat you at these stores I would be fired on the SPOT! I can fit into their clothes now, I refuse to shop there or go in there at all....that is why I hate them, and the music is way too loud.....plus there are WAY better quality and more originals styles out there than these stores offer.

I have no clue why people would hate them. Those stores have amazing sense of style that is so preppy and casual and really easy to wear without it being so complicated.People probably hate it because almost everyone shops there and it probably isn't their style.I don't know how hey could live without those stores...THEY ARE AWSOME!!

Well, I don't have any desire to go into those stores because most girls in my school wear those brands and I don't like following other people's styles.. And I don't like wearing clothes with the brand name across the front, then everyone knows where I got it, it's just cheesy to me. Plus, since so many girls in my school wear those brands, I always see more than 3 of them wearing the same outfits in one day...It's just SO unoriginal to me..=)

I personally don't hate them, but they are like a sex shop! The shorts are so immodest. they are soooo short and they are made to only be pulled up to their crotch. I think that some of their clothes are just too revealing. But some of them are kind of cool.

People dislike those stores because they think they are worn too often or the clothes are not unique enough. Others just can't afford it. There are many different reasons why people dislike those stores.
