hey... i had been admited in hospital yesturday for gastritus.. they dignosed increased accounts (sgpt n all ) and gave me an antibiotic injection (cipro) which had an infection on me, then they gave me an anti allergy and gave me folxy.... then i don't know what happened, i had a mark on my hand and they thought i tried to hurt myself, and they shifted me to the physcatric ward and then i got out yelling at them... now they gave me augmenton (antibiotics) which i m afraid would lead to severe gastritus.. i wanted to ask if i should take them.. also they reffered paracetomol for pain.. should i take it??

i live in pakistan and i went to the biggest hosp in my city... but i don't trust them as there are news on tv and everywhere about stuff they do to their patients etc. like they killed a patient suffering food poison .. etc etc

Did they tell you the cause of the gastritis? Usually gastritis can be handled in an acute care/ER/outpatient setting but since you are in pakistan, I don't know what actually happened to you and why you were admitted. I think i'm not understanding a lot of what you have to say and the details surrounding the events. You have to give a better history before your hospital admission and what medical problems you currently have. Also speak a little about your symptoms before this admission. It's ok to take paracetomol or acetaminophen (tylenol) as its known in the u.s. You should stay away from asprin and other nsaids/ibuprofen if you have gastritis. I'm not sure what they are treating with augmentin alone. You need an antacid/proton pump inhibitor along with clarithromycin if they are thinking h. pylori.

I am not surprised at their referring you to the psychiatric ward. If you have doubts whether you should take a medicine or not, you should consult a good physician or a family doctor. You say you are in a city and so there should be no dearth of doctors.
