I was dancing at the clubs last night, and so many people were hostile and angry all night, for no apparent reason. Mix that with a few cocktails, and whoa … I though Armageddon came at closing time. Little itsy-bitsy women were taking down cops; every establishment in town had a cop, ambulance, and fire truck. Men were fighting, and just there was general mayhem EVERYWHERE. I don’t think anyone died … but even after a sports team wins there has been more order.

I guess my only thought is that many people may have been digesting so much negative stuff by watching the VA tragedy, and I was wondering if there is a psychological terminology or study that would show a correlation between violence witness through the media and violence in real life.

OR I'm looking for a social explanation on why ppl were so violent last night (especially the women). Good greif.

It's like a love-hate relationship. I do, of course, love my family and I wish them all good, but sometimes I feel like I don't even like them, and sometimes I feel like I love them the most. It's easier with friends & lovers, you may break it off if things get really bad, but with parents & siblings it's crazy! Why do you think?

I have seen a lot of answers and comments here about "bad owners" and I am wondering, what is a bad owner? Is it someone who does not feed or water their dogs? IS it someone who uses or does not use crates? someone who trains using corrections or no corrections, someone whose dog has been trained in protection? What is a bad owner?

I have a friend who has been married for 20+ years. In his words she is physically and verbally abusive. She is controlling and jealous of his relationship with their daughter. After she accused him of having an affair he finally had enough and moved out. He accepted a job 3 hours away and started to rebuild his life. 2 weeks ago they got together to hash out some of the details. The conversation ended with her talking him into marriage counseling. He says he'll give it a shot but was doing so with a lot of apprehension. By nature he is very passive and she is very... uh, assertive... spelled c-o-n-t-r-o-l-l-i-n-g.
Anyone care to sound off?
What is your best guess, can a leopard change her spots?
Can this marriage be saved with the help of a therapist?

I am consdering interviewing for a job in Olathe, making more money than where I am at here in OK. Is there anyone that lives in Olathe that can give me a little inside on the town and area. I am a single male, looking to live in a moderate sized city which has things to do but Cost-of-living is not very high. I have wanted to live in Tulsa for ages, but nothing ever comes open there? I always seem to need to hang out with one friend before the other ones.
it seems that my one friend "recharges my batteries" and after I hanng with her for a good period of time, if i saw her later, it would be too much...like it would be extraneous..too much..like
we both need breaks.
but my other two friends..i could see them the same next day and not be a problem.
