I would say it's not any safer or more dangerous than most places in the United States.
While St. George does have a large Mormon population, typically, Mormons are not aggressive against homosexuals, as it goes against our doctrine to act in such a manner. Many will be standoffish of homosexuals, while others interact with them just as they would any other person, but it is not common for Mormons to become violent with any person for their personal beliefs or lifestyle.
And as the person above stated, the news in Utah covers the entire state on crime, as there isn't much to cover in the state. I have lived in Utah for about eight years and have never heard a report on the news about an attack on a homosexual for their lifestyle in the St. George area.

St. George is mostly made up of retirees, I live in northern Utah, so it's a good distance from where I am, but the local news covers the whole state, I don't really hear of any "gay bashing" incidents there, there might be, but the number would probably be fairly small, given that the town has such a high population of elderly people.

i does no longer think of so, the Mormon Church is predicated there, even if SLC, as i've got examine, has gotten alot of heat from Utah officers for commencing up up the city to gay human beings, yet that fluctuate into on wikipedia, so which you won't have the capacity to precisely tell if this is actual, in case you wanna stay risk-free the main suitable places. The north east (long island, MASS, and those states) Chicago Costal California and the cities of the west coast(Seattle, Portland, l. a.) Austin, Tx, i understand this is interior the bible belt, yet Austin interior the main liberal city interior the state(I stay in TX) and Travis co. (the county Austin's in) is the only county interior the state that voted down the state ban on gay unions in anyform. yet different than for that everywhere else is probably Jesusland.
