Last time I checked drugs were still illegal, yet a crackhead seems to have problem finding drugs to buy. We tried to ban the manufacture and sale of alcohol, but that just led to secret distilleries and smuggling. What makes guns any different? The vast majority of gun crime is carried out with guns that are illegally owned anyway, so how would a law making them illegal, again, do anything to prevent crime? I think increasing punishments for illegally owned weapons would do more to stop crime than banning law-abiding citizens from access to arms of their choosing would. Gun control only affects those without intentions of crime, criminals don't care about breaking laws to get want they want.
