Why are guys (meaning 17/18 year olds) rude to/ignore women who don't look like barbie? And why are they considered "desperate" if they are interested in an unconventionally attractive woman?

well even if they are fat, who are you to judge them? It still doesn't consitute disrespect.

First, Barbie is only fantasy and not reality. All toys are inferior to the real thing. If you look at Barbie closely, there is no perfection to her body. Guys who compare females with Barbie are immature and cannot differentiate between reality and fantasy. They are unrealistic in judging the worth of the person as a whole. It has been passed on to them by their family, peers, and media from very young into their teens.

How can I say this without offending? Your appearance has some importance to normal men . . . men generally don't want to go out with whales. And contrary to popular belief, most men I know are OK with a wide variety of shapes and sizes except for just plain fat. What constitutes fat? Well, that depends. I would consider more than 20 lbs over the healthy weight range to be fat for a woman of average height. Have a nice day!

Not all guys are like that, but the ones with attitude stay that way all through their lives. It's not just limited to 17/18 year olds.

When you find your soulmate, he will believe you are the most attractive, intelligent girl in the world. Keep searching until you find him.

In the meantime, walk tall and proud by the "Barbie" guys knowing that you are a better person than they.

Blessings.

Partly because of what "beautiful" women are portrayed in movies and TV, 17/18 is the influential age, where guys are influenced by what they see on TV to be "pretty" and deeply influenced by their friends, and most treat women who dont look like barbie mean because they dont want to develop feelings for her, they are considered "desperate" because they kno their friends and just ppl in high school wont accept a girl who doesnt look like barbie, its messed up i kno

The facial of a woman is one thing and the emotional part of them is another, I've had only two girlfriends and they were not that pretty but their attitudes are very sweet, well there are some guys that only want pretty ones to do them with you know have fun but there are others that wnat a life with them, to respect them as women...But if she is a fat, ugly and gross attitude type of woman, that's another story...

cuz all they want is an anorexic freak who they can have sex with a few times and then move on to the next barbie...so if they get an average lookin girl it gives the impression that they are so desperate to have sex that they will even date an average lookin girl who wont make as many noises as the barbie with every STD......its completely pathetic

i think its because they are too worried about what they're friends would think. which is really stupid. they may like the girl but oh what would my friends say. they usually think it would most likely ruin their reputation if they were seen with a girl who was not attractive. i really don't know the answer to the other question. well maybe because their friends would say that because they would never date someone who was "ugly" or "not attractive" but that may be to them. but not the person who actually likes them. i wish guys would not care what their friends think.

Because they're immature! They're probably insecure, too, because they think that THEY'LL look cool if they have Barbie on their arm. The good news is, they do grow up ... eventually.
