The situation:

I have been hired to deliver some materials door-to-door for a company at $.15 a delivery. My friend said he would be interested in helping me deliver them because he is in-between jobs and interested in doing something temporary. What is an appropriate finder's fee to charge him, if anything? I am considering handing the whole delivery over to him, in which case I would definitely charge a finder's fee.

he owe's a small credit union $7K for this car, i'm just going to take over the payments on the car, but it will still be in his name till i finish paying for it. Then he gives me the title and we transfer it to my name. The reason i can't get the loan transfered into my name is cause i owe that bank money already from an old checking account. what do we get notarized? and how do we handle the full coverage insurance issue? does he keep it in his name and i pay him? cause for him it's more expensive, but for me it's cheaper, but he can't take the insurance off cause the insurance company will alert the loan bank. does he just add me as a driver? but then how much do i pay him monthly for the insurance? someone help!

We are moving to the area and I don't know NJ, PA, or Deleware. Can someone tell me where I can find really good schools, safe, quiet neighborhoods (yeah I'm the soccer mom type.) and afford a 3000 sq. foot house for about $400,000? Any helpful information is Fabulous. There is too much area to just ask a realtor. What is trendy? Too pricey? Getting run down? Etc. We can't afford over $450,000 and don't want to pay anywhere near that much. So, anything you can tell me about the surrounding areas helps a lot! I don't even know if there are other ways to commute ( train or metro)?

Thanks for anything you can tell me.

My wife and I live in Australia. I grew up here, though my wife is from England originally. We have been invited to a barbecue by a sports buddy and his wife - as far as I am aware just a quiet get-together for the four of us and their kids. After accepting the invitation, it occured to us that we're not sure if we're expected to bring our own meat, or other food, or alcohol etc.
When I was a kid here in Oz I remember barbecues at my school friends' places were generally BYO meat. My parents never socialised much and having lived in the UK for the first 5-6 years of my adult life, I'm not sure what is the done thing in adulthood!
We don't want to offend this other couple - who we hope will become good friends - by not bringing anything if it's expected or bringing a stack of stuff if they have catered for us. Trouble is, I don't want to sound dumb by having asking my mate if he wants us to bring stuff.
Please can someone help - what is the general rule with BBQs in Australia?
