The Untouchables has one of the most annoying, intrusive scores ever! I hated it, and it distracted from the film. I've also not been impressed with superhero movie music lately. The Superman and Batman themes, for example, are classic, but the X-Men movies and Spider-Man movies have had forgettable scores with no great theme.

The actual CD soundtrack has ruined movies for me in the past as well, with track listings like "Qui Gon's funeral" on the Star Wars Episode I soundtrack. Leave the spoilers off the CD if you're gonna release it earlier than the movie!

...and to the previous poster, the 300 music was NOT the same as Gladiator. Similar styles, yes, but totally different music.

Many consider the cloying, suffocating zither playing throughout "The Third Man" (1949) to be the most annoying soundtrack ever. I agree; the music was awful; it is as if the music director were some young sarcastic prankster laughing in your face and sneering, "Nyah. Nyah" A few violins, violas or cellos would've been much better.

The movie is otherwise superb and is deserving of its very high rating. The plot of this thrilling film-noir is so rich and intricate, it's worth watching twice.

I think the opposite has happened to me. The Big Chill was such a bad movie, I have a hard time listening to songs on the soundtrack.

Oh man totally. The movie "Troy"... for the end credits they played some stupid-*** rock song or something (I can't remember because guess what? I havent watched it since!)

I wish they would have played a powerful, moving, epic song at the end like in the WHOLE REST OF THE MOVIE.

Just recentlly Marie Antoinette! 80's sound track......trying to make it young and hip but the effect is confusing! On the other hand i have watched a couple movies where the sound track was the only part i liked!

Definately! One time I saw this movie (horror, my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE genre for books and movies!) that WOULD have been great if they didn't start playing loud music that is SUPPOSED to be scary about a minute before somebody got killed or something interesting happened!!! It STANK!!!
