I'm would say Elvis but Chuck Berry was one of Keith Richards' idols and The Rolling Stones are rock n roll.

I would say you are on the right track by thinking Elvis, but what about "the Killer" (Jerry Lee Lewis) or maybe Carl Perkins! Seems to me, rock & roll was defined long before Elvis! Knothead
