I have been going through the Religion section voting for answers, and I find the section dominated by Christians answering the questions as if there could be no perspective for the answer other than the Christian perspective. Forinstance, a few people have asked questions about why there are so many religions. I am Pagan, and like many Pagans I have studied many religions, and so I know that this question can easily be answered by quoting the Buddha, "There are as many paths to the one as there are lives of men." However, none of the Christians answering the question seemed to be able to look at the question from a theological perspective other than their own. This is just one example out of many to be found in the religion section.
Is there some taboo in Christianity against studying other religions? Or a taboo against understanding other religious perspectives?
I don't want to think of Christians as close minded and ignorant, but that is the perception from what I'm reading here.
