Since I was born my average body temperature has been 96.2 (2 degrees lower than average).
However, a couple of days ago I started having trouble breathing. I took my temp and it was around 96.8 (which is pretty normal for me). After more problems my husband dragged me to the hospital where my temp was 96.7.
They found absolutely nothing wrong with me and sent me home and the next day my temp was down to 94.3 (according to research, that's moderate hypothermia). I called my doctor who had no ideas other than to do everything to keep my temp over 95.
It's been a day and I'm struggling to do such. Even after a hot bath, loads of hot tea and blankets and sweaters I'm just staying at 97 and I feel like I'm overheating. However, if I stop TRYING to maintain a high temperature I drop to the low 90s again.
I still have a little labored breathing from time to time, but otherwise feel perfectly healthy.
My doctor has no ideas except waiting. Should I be worried? Should I get a second opinion

P.S.
My oxygen saturation was 100% so apparently I'm getting enough oxygen even though I'm still having problems breathing. I don't smoke. I'm 22 years old. No kids, not pregnant. Never been diagnosed with asthma. My chest x-rays and EKG were normal. However I have been having back and neck pain and even pain in my upper arms. No abnormal stress in my life, yet ever three or four breaths I have to gasp for air because I feel like I'm not getting enough.

Keep in mind that 98.6 is an AVERAGE. Running low is not a problem, go by what is normal to you. I also run low and a temp of 98.6 is a low grade fever for me. You might try buying a new thermometer and comparing the results. Also, if you are feeling like you can't breath, you are probably breathing through your mouth which will lower the reading. A second opinion never hurts if you are worried about it. I would wait a few more days if you are not having any other symptoms and see how you feel.

I'm now not certain if there's a courting among low blood strain and coffee frame temp, however frame temps do fluctuate among contributors. ninety eight.6 is solely an typical. My frame temps have continually been low, within the ninety seven to ninety seven.five variety whilst I'm healthful and ninety nine is a horny well fever for me. If you're having predicament regarding low frame temp or low blood strain, speak with a surgeon.

Mine is always low too, and sometimes, it could be anemia, or slow thyroid...but it scares me all the time also..now if you have gone to the doctors and there is nothing wrong, I would say that you are okay, and that your temp is normal for you...mine does the same thing everyday, and it drives me NUTS...so also, wear warm cloths,...check your thyroid, and potassium too...Good Luck,...we got cold temps but warm hearts

My husband had a hypothyroid condition and his temp was always low...around 97 or sometimes a little lower. Get your thyroid tested.
