50 Ways to leave your Lover

"the problem is all inside your head", she said to me
The answer is easy if you take it logically
I'd like to help you in your struggle to be free
There must be fifty ways to leave your lover

She said it's really not my habit to intrude
Furthermore, i hope my meaning won't be lost or misconstrued
But i'll repeat myself at the risk of being crude
There must be fifty ways to leave your lover
Fifty ways to leave your lover

Just slip out the back, jack
Make a new plan, stan
You don't need to be coy, roy
Just get yourself free
Hop on the bus, gus
You don't need to discuss much
Just drop off the key, lee
And get yourself free

Just slip out the back, jack
Make a new plan, stan
You don't need to be coy, roy
Just listen to me <-----------
Hop on the bus, gus
You don't need to discuss much
Just drop off the key, lee
And get yourself free

She said it grieves me so to see you in such pain
I wish there was something i could do to make you smile again
I said i appreciate that and would you please explain
About the fifty ways

She said why don't we both just sleep on it tonight
And i believe in the morning you'll begin to see the light
And then she kissed me and i realized she probably was right
There must be fifty ways to leave your lover

Oh wow yeah those can be very sensitive and confusing situations to be in...and i wouldnt judge anyone or say how wrong it is to feel that way, bcuz i know that feelings are one of those things you just cant control, however your actions are...if you have enough willpower that is. So as hard as it may be, i think the only real way to stop a friendship that is blossoming into something much more is first of all taking some time and figuring out why you are having feelings for your friend if you´ve already got someone else...it could be bcuz you´re not sure if you really love your partner or maybe its just bcuz you´re just going through a rough patch with your partner...it could be for any reason, and it can be very hard but you do have to figure it out. And once you do then you can decide who you really want to be with and then you will either have to break up with your partner and tell them that you dont really love them and then be with your friend...bcuz it just wouldnt be fair to either one of you otherwise...or if you know that you really love your partner and you want to be with him/her..you just have to talk to your friend and ask him/her if its possible for the 2 of you to just be friends and nothing more...and you also have to know yourself if this person means enough to you to want to keep having them in your life and if so, then you..just have to let go of your feelings for that person...which i know can seem impossible especially while they are still in your life and you see them all the time...but if you truely love your partner and you truely want your friend to be a part of your life..thats really the only solution i can think of...

Sorry if i only confused you more lol or if this didnt really help much, its just that it depends on so many factors and i know from experience that sorting out your feelings can be one of the most hardest and confusing things to do ever. So it would really all depend on the situation.

If you're not committed to someone else, let the friendship blossom and reap the harvest.

You have to keep your emotions in check and constantly be aware of your feelings and not let things get out of control. In situations like this, it helps to establish boundaries and abide by them. I know, easier said then done.
