Hey All,

as the weeks go on in our sports football tipping comp, I want to work out a graph or calculation to work out, who has the best percentage of winning?

For instance, if each week a person can get a maximum of 16 points, if they get 8 each week.. but someone else gets 6 each week... can you do a sum or graph to represent that persons percentage chance of being the winner? data currently available is progressive score, week by week score and a few line graphs to resemble this.

Costing me five points to ask this, but enquiring minds, etc.,.

Earth's atmosphere remains in place mainly due to the planet's gravity. By itself though would that be enough to prevent the solar wind from sweeping it away given the billions of years involved? I'm assuming that to some extent Earth's magnetic field helps protect the atmosphere by deflecting the solar wind.

If the above assumptions are correct, how does Venus retain its atmosphere when it has virtually no magnetic field. At first I thought that its atmosphere was significantly denser than ours, but that's not the case.

Whaddaya think....?

What makes a wine what it is? For example: why is a Merlot a Merlot, and a Zinfandel a Zinfandel? What about a Cabernet Sauvignon? (I couldn't have spelled that without a bottle of it sitting right in front of me to copy). Those are the biggies, as always for my questions, everybody gets a big thumbs-up for responding! Thank You!

I am a Christian, but I am extremely critical of my faith. I do not believe lightly and this is one of my major questions. Compare Matthew 24, Mark 13, and Luke 21. (If you're not already aware that the Jewish Temple was destroyed in AD 70 then do some research before attempting to answer here.) These prophecies outline the destruction of the Temple and then it goes on (Mt 24:29-30):

"But immediately after the tribulation of those days THE SUN WILL BE DARKENED, AND THE MOON WILL NOT GIVE ITS LIGHT, AND THE STARS WILL FALL from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. "And then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the SON OF MAN COMING ON THE CLOUDS OF THE SKY with power and great glory.

Then it says in 34:

"Truly I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place."

See my dilemma? Jesus said he'd come back, but he didn't. Only real answers please.

And please don't give me the excuse that someone else started it, that's so juvenile. Regardless of how someone else acts do you not have your own morals and ethics? Why do so many of you insist on acting like school children fighting in a school yard?

I believe in God - it's MY RIGHT. Sure you may not, and that's fine, believe what you want, but why demean what someone else believes? This goes for the Christians that demean others too! I know not everyone behaves this way, but I have seen SO MANY that do! Why? Does it make you feel better to put others down? Is it because you have anonymity? Some of you on here act like small children throwing tantrums. Do you really have nothing better to do with your time then be insensitive and destructive?

I am dating a very sweet 45 year old man, he is both my best friend and my boyfriend, I am 25 years old. He was previously married when he was in his late 20's/30's, but he has been divorced for 10 years. I really do want to get married at some point because I am young, and if I stay with him I would like to get married to him. I don't really want a lot of kids, I just would like to get married at some point. The age difference is absolutely no problem, I won't date guys under 35.

I thinl it is because the only belief that you share is in the dogma of redemption. If that dogma is indisputable then why are you not unified instead of being splintered into so many different denominations?
