And please don't give me the excuse that someone else started it, that's so juvenile. Regardless of how someone else acts do you not have your own morals and ethics? Why do so many of you insist on acting like school children fighting in a school yard?

I believe in God - it's MY RIGHT. Sure you may not, and that's fine, believe what you want, but why demean what someone else believes? This goes for the Christians that demean others too! I know not everyone behaves this way, but I have seen SO MANY that do! Why? Does it make you feel better to put others down? Is it because you have anonymity? Some of you on here act like small children throwing tantrums. Do you really have nothing better to do with your time then be insensitive and destructive?

Candleman, I have EVERY right to say that I believe that my God is the only God. It is what I believe. That being said, what I do not have the right to do is to declare everyone who doesn't believe as I do a horrible person, or curse them, or hate them, or even dislike them because of what they believe. I have every right to declare that I believe that the Christian God is the only God and that the only way to heaven is through His Son. I believe that and I will declare it till the day I die. And I will tell others that I believe that. It doesn't mean that I demean someone if they choose not to believe the same as me.

I I do my best not to be hateful and usually if I come across that way I am just being sarcastic - I really want to hear and understand every ones view point and why they believe the way they believe. I don't take offense to someone who believes different than me - I find them more interesting than people who believe the same way I do. If I only interact with people of my own belief I will never learn anything else about the world around me - I want to know that what I think and believe is truly what I think and believe and not just what has been passed down to me at an early age.

My point always ends up being the same. Christians think they are the only ones who believe in god. If you are not a christian, you are suddenly an atheist. I just like to point out that this is totally incorrect and I get a little frustrated when bible verses are thrown at me.

If someone does not believe in the bible, then throwing verses at them obviously will not prove a point.

Use facts, christians, and others will not be so mean to you. Then quit trying to force others to believe in what you do in order to be accepted and in order to actually believe in god.

I personally have not been mean, (maybe a little short) but not mean or hateful. I just get a little irritated that the christians go by the 'ten commandments' and then forget about the one Jesus added and said this is the new commandment and is above all others. 'Love one another as I have loved you.' And mostly the christians don't go by that at all and don't refer to it after ten commandment talk.

Very good point. It could be because our society today is based on arguing. I am entilted to everyone's opinion. Vice Versa, I may believe what I want to believe in, and I do not need a Christain-hater to tell me that there is no God; to tell ANYONE that there is no God.

it is your right to believe in your god, but because you have no proof that the bible was not written for profit or worse, you have NO RIGHT to say that the christian god is the only god!!!!!!!!!

a lot of people do not like stereotypes, but I have found that they are earned most of the time. (the exception is when they are given out of hate.) and Christan's have earned the stereotype of being very disrespectful and hateful to all others

Wahhhhhhhhhh

I have just as much right to defend my position as the next guy don't ya think?

Why are you accusing people of being insensitive and destructive? Jesus didn't blubber over these non believers he told them like it was and if they chose to believe that was fine otherwise he says not to waste your time on them. We are after all waiting for the the word to be spread though out the world, then the end shall come. They hear they reject, we keep witnessing right?

It is my right to be Hindu yet when relooking over some questions I have answered, I see thumbs down where none apply...I don't know why Christians have to be so mean to people of other faiths...

I think some people post inflammatory questions (and answers) just to get people riled up. They take pleasure in chaos and disharmony. It gives them a sense of power. Too bad they're just bells without clappers.

Don't be sorry; be aggressive! I don't hate Christians or any other believer, but I do hate what they do. It's just like your belief of God not hating the sinner but the sin.

Ask your fellow Christians to stop treating me so poorly (keying my car with "heathen", scaring my son, yelling obsenities at me, etc.) and to stop trying to pass laws based on your beliefs thus FORCING everyone else to believe what you believe... THEN we'll talk about people being hateful to others.

For me, anonymity has nothing to do with it. I speak openly and freely, casually and calmly, about my beliefs and non-beliefs with many people in real life. What I find ironic is that on the ACLU forums, whenever there's a religious post from the ACLU, the religious "anonymous" posts just fly while most atheist and secular posts are posted with names attached. That speaks volumes to me.
