I found a way to get her to talk to me. When we were growing up we always ate tomato soup and maccaroni noodles. So I surprised her when she got home the other day, she couldn't resist. We sat, ate and talked. I explained how shrewd it was for me to have those few drinks and not call for a ride. She understood but was still upset. We pinky swore that it wouldn't happen again. Then she let it all come out. She started rambling about when her and her friend were out shopping in the city and while walking in between stores she saw this man with horrifying deformities, it seemed as if though it pained him to walk. She said she broke down right there. She said that she felt so guilty for having the luxury of walking store to store while this man suffers just to go wherever this man had to go. She wanted to help him somehow but knew that she couldn't, and it reminded her of mom and dad, and how she couldn't help them either. She ran to her room after that, and hasn't talked to me since.
