I have gained a lot of weight during the last year, because I ate much and stopped exercising. Anyway, I want to lose it now. I went to the gym, and did some exercise that would be fairly easy for me last year, but with the extra weight I almost fainted (I had the technique to do the exercises, but I was panting, I can't run for more than 3-4 mins, I was in severe pain in the night afterwards, etc). What do you think, should i exercise right now or lose some weight first just by means of a diet, and then start exercise? I know exercise would help me burn the fat, but it was really a bad experience last time I tried. And what type of diet would you recommend? I don't want a chemical diet, with no carbs, like Atkins, but is there something that doesn't rely solely on small portions of food and low calories?
