According to the National Bureau of Economic Research this expansion started in November 2001 when there were 130,883,000 establishment jobs. There were 135,230,000 establishment jobs in June of 2006 for an increase of 4.347 million jobs. That's a compound annual growth rate of .71% and THE WORST RATE OF JOB CREATION IN 40 YEARS
The administration has a nasty habit of lying. So they often use June 2003 as the starting point for their job numbers. SOOOO, let's use the administration's dates. In June 2003 there were 129,822,000 establishment jobs in the US and there were 135,230,000 in June of 2006. That's a compound annual growth rate of 1.5% which is still THE WORST RATE OF JOB CREATION IN 40 YEARS!
Still think the economy is whiz banging along? Only if you take their word for it.
