Parole is granted to folks who are serving prison time after they interview with a board who decides if they want the prisoner on the streets. After the parole hearing, they will let you know if they plan to parole you.

You must be asking for a friend because prisoners aren't eligible to use computers for Yahoo! Answers.
I don't think it's jail that uses the parole system. It's prison. You have to serve a certain amount of time depending on the crime before you become eligible to go before the parole board. Even then it's no guarantee that parole will be granted.
The best thing to do is to live within the bounds of acceptable behavior and NOT go to prison.
