Is there a way to deal with shin splints caused by running besides stopping running? I'm preparing for a race after a period of no running and am starting to get shin splints. Time constraints prohibit me from not training.

With all the global warming talk nowadays you constantly here reference to "peer reviewed” work, as if this is a guarantee that what a scientist says is scientific truth--assuming scientific truths are the actual laws according to nature and not some man made assumptions.

The thing we all need to remember is that scientists are human and humans make mistakes. Some "real" scientists go beyond making mistakes and actually fabricate science --case in point, Dr. Hwang in South Korea. His work even passed "peer" review for a number of years.

I have a scientist friend that has done research on group psychology. He said that his research suggests that the magnitude of mistakes increases in groups: not more mistakes but the errors are greater. I can't help but wonder what implications this has for the scientific community. If people like Dr. Hwang were able to fool the scientific community for so long. Who else is fooling the scientific community?

I have been married since Dec 05 but have been in a relationship with my husband since 2001 and since then we have two children who are 4 years & 1 year old.

I live with my husband and our relationship has broken down due to unduly behaviour on his part but i am worried that if we proceed with a divorce and as he owns the property which is in his own name only.He has said he can legally kick me out making me homeless and he will have custody of our kids because he can provide a home.On top of that he got a loan (in his own name) a few months ago to pay some of my debts and also took out of that loan money that was due to him from me for housekeeping and he has also held onto about £1,500 of it in case i need it at a future date.At the moment it is i who is paying the monthly premiums for this loan.

The relationship basically is dead but unsure what to do.Despite my husband promising to change he has not done anything to change this.

Yesterday I asked the ladies a couple of questions: Have you ever had a Brazilian waxing? If so, was it worth the discomfort and how long did it last. Most responded that it wasn't that uncomfortable and recommended it for the convenience of not having to shave and the lack of shaving irritation.

But one male also took the time to respond. He said, "That's just trashy!" I found that really interesting. So, my question is, do most men feel this way? Guys, do you consider a Brazilian waxing on a woman to be "trashy" or sexy? Girls, if you have had a Brazilian waxing, does your man find it "trashy" or sexy?

What kind of marriage do Edna and Leonce Pontellier have? Point to scences, actions, or statements to support your view.

For what purpose does Chopin include minor characters such as Adele Ratignolle and Mademoiselle Reisz? Is Edna similar/different? How?

Can anyone could help me?

Thanks

This test only has one question, but it's a very important one. By giving an honest answer, you will discover where you stand morally in this unlikely, fictional situation in which you will have to make a decision.

THE SITUATION
You are in New Orleans, there is chaos all around you caused by a hurricane with severe flooding. You're a photo journalist working for a major newspaper, and you're caught in the middle of this epic disaster. You're trying to shoot career-making photos. There are houses and people swirling around you.

THE TEST
Suddenly you see a man in the water. He is fighting for his life, trying not to be taken down with the debris.
You move closer.
Somehow the man looks familiar.
You suddenly realize who it is.
It's Rev. Al Sharpton.

At the same time you notice that the raging waters are about to take him under forever. You have two options- you can save the life of the "Reverend", or you can shoot a dramatic Pulitzer Prize winning photo, documenting the death of one of the world's most famous men.

THE QUESTION
Here's the question, and please give an honest answer....

Would you select high contrast color film, or would you go with the classic simplicity of black and white?

I knew a girl at work once who was truly concerned about her husband's smoking habit.

She told me that she had finally gotten him to agree to limit his smoking at home to only those times when they had finished making lxve. She had gotten the idea from a classic movie they had both see on television called "Cold Turkey."

After about a week, I asked her how it was going.

"Well, not too bad," she said, getting up off of a pillow she had in her chair and limping towards the photocopy machine. "I have gotten him down to about a pack a night now."

Natural selection: Natural selection is the process by which favorable traits that are heritable propagate throughout a

reproductive population.
But why should natural selection happen? If we are just some kind of machine without any external intelligence, why there

should be a tendecy to get better? Is it possible some intelligent being is struggling to improve itself?

Brain and Mind: Please correct me if I am wrong. Though this doesn't correspond directly to evolution but is related to

more of bilogical science and tends to prove what we are in reality. It seems scientists tend to believe that all our

thoughts consious and unconsious are rooted in our brain. They seem to identify the places where brain get activated when a
specific kind of thought is happening. I would counter that buy saying that brain is just a channel (or whatever we can
say) for thought. If a car has a capability to drive doesn't mean it is itself driving. Some person needs to drive it...
