I am interested in pursuing a job as a Foreign Service Officer with the US embassy. I am wondering what the success rate is with applicants? I know I have nothing to lose by trying, but am aware the employment process is a long one. Another concern I have is that I had a previous credit problem but settled it. I am wondering if this showed up in a background check, if this alone would prevent me from getting hired?

I would be interested in hearing from a Foreign service officer (or previous ones) regarding their experience on the job as well as their experience taking the test.

(PS. I also posted this under careers and employment. I thought by posting here I would get a more specific audience. Perhaps there would be more Foreign Service Officers or more people involved directly with the US embassy)

my brother has been experimenty with drugs like cocaine , pcp, heroin. and i am realy scared for him. i have explained to him that i do not want him to take those because of the risk of getting hooked and the health risk. but that was not anough for him he says he is not going to get hooked he told me basicly that he wasnt going to take heroin or pcp anymore but the coke is what is scarying me. can someone please help me on how to talk him out of this he is only 17. thank you any advice would be apreciated.

my god mother is too comfortable. she often comes to my home and take showers.many times i just had urge to jump in that shower but not sure if i should.she keeps doors open and act like i m not there at all

I just started in an adult-geared program at a local college. I go to class only once per week (for four hours) and each class only lasts 5 weeks. But, they say to expect to spend 15-20 hours per week doing assignments and studying. Thats alot of time and with my schedule I'm not sure I can do that. I was wondering how much time per week the average University of Phoenix student spends on studying and doing assignments since that also is an "adult-geared" program.
