OK, I'll explain:
If a Christian does "good" because he/she is afraid of going to hell or falling out of the grace of God
and
If an Atheist does "good" just to do good, because it's right and there's no fear of judgement

There are times I know without a doubt the Lord wants me to do something. I don't hear him speaking to me audibly, but I KNOW He is urging me in a certain direction.

Unfortunately, I sometimes just feel low in energy or as if I just don't have the stamina and endurance to do what God wants, and I will sometimes just sit and say "not again" or "why me"???

Here is the problem: I know the Lord will provide us with what we need to do whatever He has called us to do. So it's obviously just disobedience or spiritual laziness on my part. I admit that, I know it's wrong, and a sign that God is challenging me with greater things, and that I have more growing to do.

Well, in the meantime, what scriptures get all of you up and moving when you're in that rut and just don't want to get going? I'm sure I am not the only one who feels this way.

I pray for energy to move, but my flesh can be stubborn and gets in the way. I do not doubt that God exists, I just lack motivation at times.

As I see it, every person has a child and a grownup within him/her.
The child in women is partly reflected in the socially defined
femininity, where the woman is supposed to resemble the sweet little,
innocent girl. It is all a game, of course, but yet, it allows women
to show vulnerability, a privilege men don't have, as the masculine
role is all about self-confidence and strength.

I believe all people have a need to feel both strong and vulnerable,
and that it is against the human nature to associate strength and
dominance to gender. This is perhaps obvious, but still not
implemented, even in the part of the world where women's liberation
has come far.

It is good to feel the trust in another person who's willing to show
his/her inner child to you,
just as much as it is a relief to be allowed to show your own
vulnerability to someone who accepts you for who you are.

The lack of balance leads to that while men are deprived of being
allowed to show their vulnerability, women pay the price of male
condescending for showing theirs.

It is all so very dumb.

I like two guys and they both like me. One lives 1 hour and 1/2 away and the other lives here. I like the one who lives farther away more because he is more my type and we understand eachother. We have a new aquarium. We have let the tank season (let the tank run a few days, filtering, heater on, all of that), before we added any fish. We cannot get the pH low enough. We have well water and Ive been told thats typically really alkaline, which yes it is , we bought the entire testing kit for aquariums, weve used 2 bottles of pH down, in proper intervals, trying to get it to lower. I read somewhere someone suggested that we soften our water before we even try to use it in an aquarium. Anyone else have well water or pH problems that could help us out please?
