I am a single Mum of 3 who suffered my ex having done terrible things to me and our children. I have survived and my kids are doing great. I have worked hard to provide for them and it has paid off. Time has come for me to have a relationship & he is a wonderful man who loves me and my children - there is true trust and respect here. I am being told that I am wrong for putting this man on the same level as myself and putting our relationship equal to my children. What kind of example am I setting for my children if I always put them above everything - why is it wrong to put them equal to the man I love and who loves me. Friends and outside family are always telling me I must continue to put the kids above everything - even myself - but if my children are stable, doing well and on their way to becoming productive members of society and this new man is supportive of that - why does everyone tell me I am wrong?

I live in Minnesota and it's been really cold here lately. My car started yesterday after a few tries, so I ran it for around 20 minutes so it would start again today if I needed it. I went out to it and it wouldn't start at all. There was no clicking sound at all. There was pretty much no change from when it was off to when I tryed starting it. The temp gauge did rise a very little bit but it was noticable. What does this mean? Is my battery really frozen? Should I just get a new battery?

I need to edit a scanned document and my scanner has ocr. The problem is when I send to wordpad or notepad it changes the format. I need to keep the document as it originally was. With boxes and columns, it rearranges the document to look like a typed message. I triend editing it this way and printing but it prints as a typed message.

What am I doing wrong?

In the constitution, we have a freedom of religion. Marriage is a state recognition of religious union. Marriage came from religion. Not all religions believe that gay marriage is wrong. Its mostly Christians that are against gays. So why should the state make it illegal just because one religion is against it? That also seems like a violation of church and state....don't you think?

At the end of each month, I usually have about $100 extra, left over, that I don't need to spend on anything with. I want to put that extra money towards building my equity, but I'm not sure where the best place to put it is.

I guess one option is to pay down extra principle on my home loan. I am only paying 5.75% interest, though, and since some of that interest is tax-deductible, would I be better off investing the extra money in mutual funds/stocks? I figured that after subtracting the tax benefits of writing off interest, I'd be saving only about 4.14% annually by putting extra money into my mortgage payments.

So I'm leaning towards investing in stocks/mutual funds, as I think I could get a better annual return than 4.14%. I maxed out my IRA and am putting 6% of my paycheck towards my 401k (which is the max that my company will match). Do you think I should put the money to stocks/mutual funds on my own or used more than 6% of my salary towards my 401k?

I just got a job I really want and found out they require drug testing. I'm worried because, about a year ago, I was hospitalized for 3 days for severe depression. At that time they tested me, and the test came back positive for marijuana. I don't smoke pot and I'm not around anyone who does! I finally convinced my shrink that I don't, but she was pretty skeptical for a while. She never did run another test to check, unfortunately.

I'm hoping it was just a fluke or a lab mix-up, but I'm freaking out because I'm worried that maybe something I eat or meds I take might cause a false-positive result. I take Klonopin, Lexapro, omega-3 fish oil, and a multivitamin with one herb in it (lutein - tagetes erecta flower). Other than that, I can't think of what might cause this, except for it being a fluke or mix-up that one time.

Any ideas, thoughts, suggestions, etc.? Thanks.
