From my readings, Reform Judaism had abandoned kashrut in the 70s and it only has a nominal influence on Reform congregations today. Why (during the process of conversion) does my Rabbi ask me to keep kashrut, when (to me) there are soooo many other things to learn: Basic principles and tenents, beliefs, the Sh'ma, keeping Shabbat in my home... it seems silly and a loss of focus to have me concentrating on when I eat meat or dairy products. Any Reform Jews out there with some helpful info? Should I try another Reform Synogouge?

I plan on keeping this car for about 4 years. I drive mostly city and just for going to school and work everyday (meaning no excessive travailing) I just really want a basic car that gets me to places.
My biggest concern is reliability.
second is the price,(include maintaining cost and gas money)

At work, theres this one lady who is very gullible and goes to church every Sunday. Also old people also tend to believe, maybe harking back to older days when people weren't encouraged to think for themselves? Or is it because as we get older we want to believe there is something else?

I seem to remember reading an article that states there is a spirutal part of the brain which makes us believe, or indeed be gullible. Will anyone who is religious believe this? Its like telling someone that something they are passionate about is all because of a section of their brain wants them too? How easy is it to be subjective. Just interested.

On a personal note yes I am an atheist, but I am interested in those of you who are religious.
