I currently got hired as a T.A. at one of the LAUSD schools. I have my A.A. but because of the No Child Left Behind Act I have to take a District Proficiency test.
Has anyone taken it before? How is it?
what do you recomend I study? Any web sites you might think might be helpful?

I want to leave my big suitcase in or around the new Bangkok International airport in a 'safe' storage, be it a hotel or airport storage for a week while i travel down to Phi Phi.

I invested $15k last year in the Dodge & Cox Balanced Fund through my previous employer's Roth 401k plan, but my new employer does not offer this fund (or a Roth 401k). I would like to continue to invest in this fund via an IRA but it is closed to new investors. Is there any way around this as I still hold my $15k in the fund through my old employer? For example, can I convert it to a Roth IRA with Dodge & Cox and continue to contribute via a Roth IRA?

we have new leather furniture and my cat likes to claw it with a vengance. My cat is too old to be declawed and I need a solution fast. Other than covering the furniture with throws is there anything that I can put on the leather that would make it unattractilve to my cat?

Just been answering a question about the Ashes and where they should reside which got me thinking... are there really any ashes in that little wooden urn? I know there was originally the ashes of a burnt bail in there, but has the urn been opened up in recent times to see what is really in there? Are there any photos around of the inside of the urn? Has any scientific analysis been done on the contents of the urn?
