I have one baby and wonder if a decent man would date a single mom. Most that I meet are pervs and look for sex right away. They assume cause you have a baby you are easy.

yea, good guys will date single moms without a problem, maybe the guys you are looking at are not really good guys, maybe you are still stuck on that girlish imature fantasy of finding that bad boy thing out there
depends on where you look and what you looking for, but yea, nice guys date single moms

When I was single, I NEVER wanted kids, because I couldn't stand them. I had a kid with my C/L Husband because I didn't want to wake up one day when I was 50 and regret that I should have had kids. My little "experiment" backfired because I am so in love with my little boy and truly a more joyful person because this little person is in my life. Why do you call the kids of single mothers "mistakes"? You certainly can't say that's true for ALL of them...?!? Maybe their husband died? Maybe he turned abusive later on and had to be exited from their lives? Perhaps that could be the same for some men...that, in addition to finding a wonderful woman...the kids can be a joy as well? Obviously, it's not for all men...but, is there a reason your message has to read so condemnatory?

Some would because I know a lot of them. I wouldn't personally in most cases. A woman with a child is most likely more complicated than a childless one. Though it may be bad to assume, there's often another man in the single mom's life, and that's threatening. Not to mention the idea of having to be a father figure.

Not many single guys under 35, with no children, will be willing to date single mothers. I sure wish people would be more careful about having children outside of marriage, because it causes big problems for them and the rest of society. There are a few guys that might consider dating single mothers, but you're probably going to have to really look for them. Good luck!
zether: Don't try to reduce it to a "nice guy" vs. "bad boy" dilemma. There aren't many guys PERIOD who want to date single mothers before a certain age, no matter if they're nice or not.

I had a baby when I first met my (present) husband. I think a lot of guys realize what hard work and committment go into being a single mom!
Hon, so many young women nowadays have at least one child, I really don't think it means a great deal to most guys. If you look around you---there are blended families and parents with stepchildren everywhere; it's become the norm.

Yes, I would date a single mother as long as there is no drama with the father. I would be happier in a relationship without another man in our lives.

I'm going out with a girl who has a daughter right now. I plan on marrying her after I'm back from Iraq too. Most guys are just intimidated by kids that's all, nothing more than that. Especially if you're a good mother who's dedicated to your child (as you should be). Some guys feel they may not be good with a kid, or feel they're not old enough to get involved. That's the problem nowadays, good luck though!
