I'm single, self-employed, doubtful and scared of audit if I claim a home office, travel a lot for work (car, plane, hotels), have to eat on the road a lot, but usually alone, have a 401(k), member of professional associations, medium credit card debt, minor bits of work equipment, moving from Los Angeles to New York this year.

I welcome general hints but especially interested in links to more complete resources.

My son is giving me so much grief. He is 18 years old - and only has 8 high school credits (out of 40) been in trouble with the law (drinking / smoking pot) - acts like a wanna be gangster - steals from me (right out of my wallet) if I forget to hide money at night. Now the question, he moved with a friend and his mom on Friday (Dec 29) about 2 hrs away from me - already he wants to come home. I have to say that the peace and quiet in my house is wonderful - but I do miss him. I'm a single mom - his dad and I divorced when he was 3 - I have two other children (a daugher 18 - (a twin to my son)) and a 14 year old son. The other two children are wonderful - my daughter just got a full ride scholarship to Indiana U. Should I let him come home? I think I need rules - but me being at work it's hard to enforce. I want him to have a job, finish school, - stop smoking (pot & cigs) - stop stealing. Any advice? My other kids do not want him home - because he causes so much stress ...

At a March 1925 international birth control gathering in New York City, a speaker warned of the menace posed by the "black" and "yellow" peril. The man was not a Nazi or Klansman; he was Dr. S. Adolphus Knopf, a member of Margaret Sanger's American Birth Control League (ABCL), which along with other groups eventually became known as Planned Parenthood.

Sanger's other colleagues included avowed and sophisticated racists. One, Lothrop Stoddard, was a Harvard graduate and the author of The Rising Tide of Color against White Supremacy. Stoddard was something of a Nazi enthusiast who described the eugenic practices of the Third Reich as "scientific" and "humanitarian." And Dr. Harry Laughlin, another Sanger associate and board member for her group, spoke of purifying America's human "breeding stock" and purging America's "bad strains."

I had a college degree and lost my job to illegal aliens. I LOVED my job even though the government kept assuring me that it was a job that Americans no longer are willing to work. It took about 3 years of whining and complaining before I finally bit down and went into a new field called truck driving. Now I'm making more money than almost anyone else I know and have illegal aliens to thank for it. Muchos gracias Pedro and Julio.

I'll try to make this quick. . .I dated this guy about a year ago and fell head over heels for him. I found out from my best friend that he cheated on me and used me, yet she always hung out with him as friends. I was jealous, but I got over it and moved about an hour away. Well, she is married and just had a baby six weeks ago. I found out the other day that she thinks her marriage is failing and that she is cheating on her husband, with my ex! What is your opinion?
