I had a college degree and lost my job to illegal aliens. I LOVED my job even though the government kept assuring me that it was a job that Americans no longer are willing to work. It took about 3 years of whining and complaining before I finally bit down and went into a new field called truck driving. Now I'm making more money than almost anyone else I know and have illegal aliens to thank for it. Muchos gracias Pedro and Julio.

If you cant find a job as a truck driver then I feel sorry for you. Just to answer your curiosity....I make $850/week in 4 days and am home every day or $212/day. I never made more than $700/week working as a supervisor or manager. The truth is most people dont want to risk their life or take a chance so theyre happy with their office job or feel like theyre too good to drive a truck. The profession is synonomous with "dumb country redneck"

I attended Presbyterian College in Clinton, SC and graduated with a Business Degree in 1998. Im sorry if I enjoyed making $17/hour in a warehouse environment stead of taking a lower paying job with a bank or restaurant chain.

illegals opened my eyes to other job professions. I'd still be making $17-$20/hour if not for illegals. If any of you want help in getting into truck driving then Im me. I understand you all whining though. I did it for 3 years cause its human nature. Everything is going great for you and then you have to start over and for what? Cause Bush and the corporations want to make 70 billion dollars a year instead of 40?

well I was FORCED to do something I regret too, lol. I reenlisted in the National Guard soon after I lost my job cause I needed some money and $15,000 sounded good at the time. Ive got almost 4 years left on my contract now and wish I could get out cause Id rather go to Iraq and drive a truck for KBR making $10,000/month than holding a rifle for $4000. See how Bush's actions are affecting the entire world? How many other people's lives are being changed so drastically? Illegals(Bush Law) may have helped me get a National Guard retirement bonus down the road too, lol.....or they may be indirectly responsible for me getting killed. Only time will tell.

First of all you should pick a more believable lie, because even a moron knows that ILLEGAL aliens are uneducated, none of them have a college degree, they are poor, that is why they cross ILLEGALLY. Second no one with any kind of decent college degree is going to drive a truck. sorry but an associate degree isn't worth sh1t. Finally tell the truth about driving trucks, you don't make that much when you start out AND you have to have a minimum of two years long distance before any company will let you drive locally, so in the beginning you are very rarely home.

Well then tonatiuh, I guess I am a different anti illegal alien supporter. My ancestors didn't own or support slavery,I have an MBA ,I own two businesses and I live in Arizona.Another stereotype bites the dust.
No one should be FORCED to change their life for any reason other than their personal desire to do so.It has nothing to do with ,lack of skill ,or work ethic that anyone would lose a job to
an illegal alien. Its just the simple fact that the illegal will work for less money and no benefits of any kind. Its not that they are qualified ,its the fact that its cheap labor.I'm glad you are happy in your new job,but many people are being displaced and do not have the education ,or the money for schooling .They have to keep feeding their family's.Illegals are illegal. They have no right to be here much less work here.

On the other hand....
wages are being stifled, lowered, held down, and less benefits are fallout byproducts due to illegal immigration. In 2001, I was earning 30k plus full benefits. From 2002, I could only attain part time work at $12/hour. And I was holding desperately onto that job. Finally got full time work that has benefits at $10/hour.
Not bad - 2001 @ 14.50/hr....2007 @ 10/hr. Having to hold on to my part time original job, so I'm putting in 12-13 hrs per day, and still not earning the $30k per year, exhausted, and struggling with the debt I incurred in trying to survive without wages for 11 months from 9/11 until I landed the pt job.
So, that's great it worked out wonderfully for you. I've wound up with the scraps, and having little hopes for cleaning up my debts before I die. Have a good day!

This doesn't even sound like a serious question. You went to college and got a degree and now you are wasting that degree being a truck driver. A lot of people are not able to find other jobs, and even if they are, that isn't the point. They shouldn't have lost their jobs in the first place to people who don't belong in the country.

I have a question for you. If you have a college degree how did illegals take your job from you? This sounds like a poor career choice by you if you have a college degree but you are still working blue collar jobs. Sound like maybe you don't have a college degree. and if you won't every one else to quit whining maybe you should start with yourself and quit whining about illegal aliens. Our country is what it is and if you have a problem with it write your congressman, and next time don't waste our time and ask a real question.

Not everyone has that option!, not to mention that at one point there was a thing call job security.
I hate that more and more we are losing our say. Its bad enough that illegal immigrants drove wages down, and to sneak in. But to allow them amnesty and on top of that guests, without the say so of the American people is just the direction this country is going in. Regardless of we the people, and the statement one nation, it seams that our country is divided. There's Bush.......
and the people who have to live with the decisions that HE makes. Democracy is in the crapper!

I hope you are not a swift truck driver or star or JB Hunt they cause more accidents than any other trucking firms. Besides you didn't include do you unload your own load or have to hire someone to help you and are you paid per mile, per load, do you sit at truck stops chatting on the CB all night. You didn't include the chicken coops random stops by the DOT. It's not as easy and simple as you make.

Or they could quit whining, and go back to college, like I did. But I still disagree with letting illegals in OR sending the jobs overseas.

But on the other question, you said that your employer hires 95% illegals. Which is it, Franklin...did you change your job or are illegals still doing the job you LOVED?
