In December 2004, Renault lent Top Gear the R24 that Fernando Alonso used in his last 3 races of the season in order to find out if it was able to lap the TG test track in less than a minute. Despite moist conditions and a greasy track, the lap took 59 seconds.
In early July 2006, at the ExCeL Exhibition center in London, Richard Hammond filmed a clip about attempting to create an "indoors" speed record. Toyota lent them a TF105 to attempt the record, peaking 81mph(130kph), just a bit faster than the 70mph(116kph) achieved in the Reasonably-Priced Car (Chevrolet Lacetti). The Stig's appearance was slightly altered, with a logo of oil company Aral on top of his helmet.
What is your opinion on the Stig's identity for those runs?
