Gundam SEED-related question?

Question

If we already had the technology to do so, would you choose to be a Coordinator or remain a Natural? Would you make your kids a Coordinator?

And let me throw in a morality question: Do you think it's wrong to manipulate genes to create better human beings? Like what Flay Allster said, "Anyone who's had their genes manipulated when they're not sick or anything is against what nature intended." Do you agree with her? Should Coordinators even be given a chance to exist?

Last: Are Extendeds just damn cruel or is it me? Cause I find it cruel to subject these people to pain or whatever just have them fight and classified as expendable.

For me, yes to everything, but not to the Flay question. What's so wrong about wanting to be better?

Coordinator. Is better to have advanced genes... We could just do almost everthing better than normal human beings. I totally don't agree with Flay. Coordinators should exist because they can build a better world. I would be a Coordinator if I have a chance. Hehe...

Well, I would say the people who made them Extended are cruel. Actually the Extendeds are like normal people. Only when their doing their tasks or someting, their cruel...

Everybody wants to be better, right?!! Smarter, and etc. Last, I would say that being a Coordinator will be the best. I wonder are there Coordinator in the future?... Hehe...

I think Flay is right but still we must give Coordinator a chance (it have been done anyway).

Being a Coordinator is against the flow of nature (New Type is a natural evolution, so it's OK).

Coordinator have problem with their children, because of their (parents) genetics make-up. So we can say that it is a side-effect of being a Coordinator.

I think we shouldn't have more Coordinator, but we should give the exisiting Coordinator a chance.

And for extended, yeah, it's cruel. Like making living weapons (training assassins from orphans or something like that). It's clearly violates basic human rights : freedom.
So it's strange for naturals to make extended to wage war against Coordinator for pure genetics reasons. I think (most) Naturals in Gundam Seed are just jealous with Coordinator superior genetics (except the good guys of course).

It's not wrong to be better. Just watch Ghost in the Shell. Why people still want to be human if they can be a cyborg? For me, I still want to be a Natural (though I don't mind being a New Type).

I think Flay's right but that doesn't mean being a coordinator is bad. Sure you change what was given to you but there are always room for changes nothing will remain as it is except changes and God ( I'm not really religious but I believe in God)..

I think the extendeds aren't really cruel I think it's just because of the things that they gone..

she's not fully right but this put people in a place where greed started too. so she's not completely wrong also. if you look at the situation in Gundamn seed it's not that different then X-men.


here not every one has access to Coordinator process and ther started divid in three waves those that are jelous that couldn't become a Coordinator and those that don't want to but feel they can't compete with those that are Coordinators. I tend to go with what kira told cagali but flay isn't completely wrong. if you look at athrun's father this kind of thing made it possable his dad to think that Coordinator's are supiror. which was the other side of racism there, there's this thing that's said Extreme superiority breeds extreme ambistion. and man athruns dad was full of it . too full. He was willing to cause genoside to normal humans over it /for it cause he thought this. so this goes on three levels here.

I agree with what the people of orb and what kira told his twin sister. Coordinator's still have to fight and think and strugle their way to do stuff forthe better ment of humanity. they were only made cause humanity is always striving to be better. so in that they will always have the same hopesm goal, and dreams for which all of humanity was aiming for. and even if they have enhanced abilitys there are still thing's they they selves still can't personally do.

man look how long it too for afhrun to realise his old man was a racist. look how long it tookfr for kira andthe other to try and finda way to end this insane war. if they were so smart it would have ended faster. but it' didn't. as kira said their notthat different's from normal human's still and they still need each other.

Anyways as I said there's alot you can find in Gundam seed that has been put in with X-Men befor that.
if you look at it carefully enough, this is a substitut about the discussion of racism and skin colour and the other tough subject's like should you beleave in the proper ganda that your world leader's are pushing to you to go to war for when their's obviously an alterior movtive? the only difference with gundam and x-men in our real world is that they are using ether power's of the fact they are enhanced being's that has to with the gentic code in our body's as the substitute to skin colour.

Gundam seed very much like X-men in what X-men has been doing over the years. though I'll admit gundam seed did a much better in so casing this in verious areas.

it's very contemperary subject matter for what happening to day in our world these days.

anyway flay was shown at the end to be mistaken and at least with the jelous part. So she did make amends in the show and in that she was redeemed.

and she was in love with kira so you all must try and Remember that.

But I ask you, should a dying man or dying species dying due their own genetics receive genetic alteration? Doing it will change him or the species, essentially killing him or the species while in the same time making a new man or species.

Do you think he or the species could handle it?

I would be suprised if a girl not wanting to improved herself, though she might said otherwise with her mouth.

Girls are crazier in doing 'self improvement' than boys, due their lack of self esteem.



Personally, with all of the events in Gundam, I would destroy all of the advanced technologies, making it into like Turn A Gundam. No more toys till you behave.
