MAN TRAPPED 4 DAYS

December 10, 2006 -- Police and firefighters yesterday rescued a Long Island man who had been trapped in his bedroom for four days after piling up a 7-foot-high mountain made up of bags of his own feces, jars of urine and other debris.

An officer responded to Charles Ruoff's dilapidated home in Centerport around 3:30 a.m. after receiving an anonymous 911 call asking police to check up on the 64-year-old veteran who hadn't been seen in days.

As he explored the house, the cop heard Ruoff calling weakly from a second-floor bedroom where he had walled himself in with a mountain of his own filth. He said he had been trapped since Tuesday.

The Centerport Fire Department freed Ruoff using heavy rescue equipment.

Ruoff was taken to the Veterans Administration Hospital in Northport where he was treated for dehydration, hypothermia, bedsores and general weakness, Suffolk County Police Commissioner Richard Donner said.

How many people here are have a job in or are studying in the math or science fields (not including secondary ed, animal science, or nutrition) and have complete faith in their religion (besides buddhism)? I mean complete faith, like you go to church or your place of worship every week.

my parents just finished another friggen fight, im so sick of them now. i just want to go away and start living on my own early, this isnt worth it.

and everyday i go to school and act like im all happy and stuff so no one will know, and i hope they wont fight again. this has gone on for years now, and its just tiring, i can never truly relax anymore, and im not talking to a school counselor, thats too embarrassing and i dont trust them to not tell anyone else.

any tips at all would be appreciated

We have known each other for over a year and curently live together, we have had a few disagreements but nothing serious. We are moving back to her home country in a year or so and she wants to go live in her house. I have concerns about this as it will be her home and I will feel uneasy and want us to get a new place. This feeling is making me nervous and I just wondered if anyone had been in a similar situation and can advise me.

I have like only a very little bit of mexican blood the rest is a very little bit of german , italian, roman, french, and american indian. More than half is spanish though. I get that little bit of mexican from my dad. On my mom's birth certificate it sats she's white, mine says hispanic. Nowadays spanish is concidered hispanic wen it's really european which is white. I wanna know what you think. Should i be concidered white or hispanic? Im just curious.

I was pregnant but had a miscarriage in July. I had a D&C. I got my period in August and now haven't had one since. My husband and I are trying to have a baby but every test has come up negative. (i took a test every week since September and its now December) I am not under stress, i actually quit work at the end of September. Whats wrong with me?

My latest test results show me having a 16.3 level when the norm for my age is 5.0-7.0. Recently i missed a period...i am two 2 1/2 weeks late and have taken 5 HPT test and they are negative and a blood test which also came back negative...i have some symptoms of pregnancy and i wanted to know if the thyroid has anything to do with me missing my cycle...thanks.

How to make friends when you're quiet and introverted?

I'm in high school and kind of want to get integrated with another group of friends and I know they like me because I'm always nice to them and sometimes get them gifts for their birthdays and holidays but the thing is I am very shy, social anxiety disorder even I think. I think sitting at lunch might help, but the thing is while they like me enough I don't know if because I barely ever talk and I'm shy that they'd ever invite me to do anything with them. Honestly, I'm kind of a boring person (that doesn't bother me at all by the way), I don't have a lot to say, and I don't really want to, but I love just being around them and listening to their conversations, because I really like them, but I worry sometimes they think I don't like them because I don't talk much and they might take shyness/avoidance as unfriendliness. Thats why I buy gifts sometimes. I like buying them anyway, it makes me feel good. I used to have facebook (myspace) to talk them a little more but I got rid of it, couldn't take the stress, and did it without telling them, so I worry that I lost a link to them.
