we are about to move across country and since the first time we put him in a carseat our 14 month old has despised it! Once buckled in he screams and cries like he is getting attacked. It's a new and very confortable carseat with lots of cushion for him and perfectly safe. How can I calm my child down for this long trip from CA to NC?

She was given to me at 5 weeks old, too young to be taken from her mommy. She doesn't seem to clean herself, will she learn or is this something she was supposed to learn from her mother?

i've been having problems breathing because it feels as if i don't have enough room for my lungs to expand. I also get needle pains spontaneously. I've been to my doctor and had an EKG and x-ray done but everything looks normal. I am only 19 so i'm a little concerned with my numbness and tingling in my left arm and my dizziness and blurred vision that i am currently having. on top of that i have high cholesterol. any advice?

met up with a guy I dated 14 yrs ago. Newly seperated w a 5 yr old daughter. He thinks if his ex knows he's dating she will cut off contact between him & his child. He gets transfered often for work, and she leaves him every time they get transfered. I feel strongly about our relationship & that we got a second chance, and I don't want to be his little secret. I have grown children, and this is big for me to be open to a 5 yr old in my life. He says he could never trust his ex again, but wants to keep things low until the divorce goes thru. I know I should be true to myself & cut this relationship off, but I'm stuck in the fact that I believe everything happens for a reason, & if we were given a second chance we should take it. I'm trying to be understanding, but my patients are wearing thin. I think he should tell his ex he is seeing someone else if our relationship means anything to him. .....thoughts?????

1. There are so many patients with an unusual constellation of signs and symptoms that bring up such numerous and obscure diagnoses which the doctor team just can't seem to narrow down without initiating an improbable combination of diagnostic tests and "empirical treatments."

2. Where on earth do residents / fellows / attendings act as jack-of-all-trades: they manage the patients, do the CT scans, do the laboratory assays, and even get to play CSI and make personal visits to patient's houses to look for whatever substance may have caused the patient's condition?

3. And where in the modern world are doctors allowed to act like House without getting slapped with a major lawsuit???

I know it's fiction, but come on. It's just too ridiculous to be taken seriously...

Just like children leave their parents and live their own life separate from their parents when they grow up, we should also stop sticking to god and accepting his morals. We're all grown up, and not kids anymore. He has no more right over us.

He has no right to hang on to us, and keep telling us what to do. If he thinks I'm sinning, then that's his issue. If he sends us to hell, it's only because he has the strength to do so. Paranoid and vindictive.

I am planning on getting a degree in either Honors Physics or Honors Astrophysics (no real difference in the courses I would take). And I am wondering does anyone have any idea as to the research opportunities with just a degree?

I could probably find a decent job with the degree doing math/problem solving related work, but not really any research related work. The physics department had a job fair type thinger, but I missed it. I'll go next year when they have it though. There are job postings for associate professors and research related work, but they all require a Ph.D.

Would it be worth it to stop after the degree and try to get a job doing research, or just go straight for Masters and Ph.D? Money isn't really an issue.

Which book, trilogy in your opinion is the best among her Valdemar books?
I have read one of the new books in the series, Exile's Honor and I would give it three stars.
So for someone just beginning Valdemar books, what do you think would be the best?
Amazon leads me to think the following are the best:
1- Take a Thief ( A novel of Valdemar)
2- The Arrows trilogy

Thanks.

then why do we have emotions. Why arent we all just savage killing machines. Or are we? Also, Why is this more apparent with higher life forms. Lower life forms have no problem just killing, higher life forms create morals and emotuions. Why? Keep answers to less than one page please. LOL
