Yes women are more smell-oriented, while men tend to be more visual. Women subconsciously choose their partners partly by their scent.

Women actually have a better sense of smell than men, so it is possible that smell plays an important part in attraction between the sexes. Whether there's a quantitative comparison, I have no idea - though I acknowledge smelling good can't hurt your chances.

I don't DISLIKE men; before I came to terms with who I am as a lesbian, I spent 18 years dating guys and trying to be straight. But i seem to like them only on a fairly superficial, friendly-but-not-emotionally-intimate kind of level. None of my dating relationships with men ever lasted more than a few weeks or a couple of months at the most. If a guy I was dating called me and asked me out, and I had no other plans for the evening, I'd go out with him and have a pretty good time in his company -- and I probably wouldn't say no if he wanted sex. But if he didn't call for 2 or 3 weeks afterward, I'd barely notice, because I was too busy doing my own thing, and I didn't really care one way or the other, to be honest. The relationships never lasted very long because sooner or later the guy would figure out that I just wasn't that into him, and we'd gradually drift off into more of a platonic friendship while he found some other girl who actually cared about him more passionately than I did. OTOH, in my relationships with women, IT MATTERS whether she calls me or I call her or we haven't spoken for 3 days.

Women yes very much so because we don't have the added hair in the nose to conceal the smell
