Which book, trilogy in your opinion is the best among her Valdemar books?
I have read one of the new books in the series, Exile's Honor and I would give it three stars.
So for someone just beginning Valdemar books, what do you think would be the best?
Amazon leads me to think the following are the best:
1- Take a Thief ( A novel of Valdemar)
2- The Arrows trilogy

Thanks.

Your best bet, and the one recommended by the auther herself, is starting with the Arrow's Trilogy. It explains the world of Valdemar better than any of her others.

After you're finished with those three, it's recommended to follow the publishing order, but I don't think it really matters.

My favorite amongst them all, even her other series, is the 'Last Herald Mage' trilogy. It's what actually hooked me into her writing, and I think all three of them are absolutely magnificient. Be warned, however, that the story lines revolves around a homosexual main character. If you're not offended by that, the stories will touch - if not break - your heart.

I would recommend every one of the books in the Valdemar series, however. My second favorite happens to be 'Burning Brightly', the story of the legendary firestarter, Lavan Firestorm.

It's quite easy to become hooked into her writing, be forewarned. And once you become a fantasy addict, there's really no turning back. You're ruined for life :D

I haven't been following her lately, but I loved all of the first three or four trilogies in the Valdemar series.

If you want to get out of there, her Diana Tregarde books are excellent supernatural mysteries. I also really liked her book "The Fire Rose." There was also a very good one called the Fire Bird IIRC -- based on a Russian myth.

The books do build on themselves, so I think it's good to start at the beginning. I'd say Arrows would be a good bet.

My personal favorite was the Dragon Jouster series.
Joust, Alta, and Sanctuary.

I would say to not start with a single book, but rather to start with a single monarch and work through them.
