A helium balloon floats inside a motor-car whose windows are closed, and which moves in a straight line at constant speed. How will the balloon be affected if the car tuns to the left at constant speed?
(i) moves to the left, (ii) moves to the right, (iii) moves straight ahead, (iv) remains stationary.
Please consider the following cases: (a) the balloon is touching the car's roof, (b) the balloon does not make any contact with the car as it floats (a small weight keeps it from rising all the way to the roof.)
A brief explanation will be greatly appreciated.

We used to be good friends, but have grown apart the past few months. I used to work with her sister, so I did know her well. It's a very sad situation, I feel terrible for her. Everyone at work keeps asking me if I've talked to her, and the truth is I haven't. I have no idea what to say to her. I'm sorry? Then what? How are you? Obviously, she's not doing well. I'm sure she's inconsolable and the conversation will be very awkward. Should I give her some space?

Please help.

Every morning I head to my local Starbucks to buy a coffee. Every day, I see this nice young girl there at the same time. I know she's around my age, because I overheard her talking to her friend one day. I know she doesn't have a boyfriend as well, because I heard her friend asking, "So are you going to ask him out?" and she said, "No, I don't really like his attitude." So, I know.

I really want to get to know her, and become friends. How do I start talking to her? What should I do?

Thanks

One thing that I have noticed on here, when someone asks a question about stepkids, there are alot of people that give advice who have the belief that stepparents have no authority and should not be involved in correcting or disaplining their stepkids. I personally disagree, as do the people I know in my private life who are stepparents. So I find it hard to believe that Yahoo Answers in a real representation of how most stepparents believe. If a friend of your childs was spending the night with your kid and lets say they pulled the cats tail, would you not correct them immediatly, simply because you aren't their parent? Kids need to be corrected immediatly after they do something unacceptable. As it is, teachers and pricipals have the right to do this, but it seems that if a stepparent does it, they are wrong. I understand that remarriage of a parent can be difficult on a kid, but they still need to respect the adult authority in their lives, even if it is a stepparent.

In the US, Alabama specifically, what happens if you have a court appearance scheduled (juvenile court but felony charges) and the officer/investigator does not show for this court date? There was no notification of postponment and it was on the docket for that date. The investigator was out of town on vacation so they just rescheduled the hearing. I have been told that they have to throw it out but the attorney did not say anything about it- just that they were going to reschedule because the charging investigator was not there. I need this answered ASAP as the next court date is in 6 days (Of which I have not rec'd any notification of but had to call and find out myself). I need links to any answers if anyone can help with this. It is keeping my honor roll senior out of her regular school and in an alternative school until this can be resolved.

I recently took my cat to the vet because he is excessively cleaning himself to the point of baldness. The vet examined him, took blood for immune tests and ran the fecal test. She also insisted that I have him re-tested for FIV, claiming that he didn't look as if he had it. (He tested positive with another vet.) When all was said and done, the bill was $200 and I have NO results. And, he is STILL FIV positive! The vet doesn't know what is wrong and stated that they would call me with the results of the blood work. I have yet to get a phone call and my cat is STILL licking himself. I went ahead and placed a "Stop Payment" on the check as I feel I should not pay for something that did not yield any results. What are your views?

My roommate came in last night and announced that she's moving out (and sticking me with all the bills and the lease) this weekend.

She's in the process of getting her stuff together...I need ideas on how to make it as unpleasant for her as humanly possible. Because I'm a b*tch like that.

I am a care worker. Today I have been on an early shift. One of my clients had slept in her glasses, earing-aid and denture. The problem with this lady is that she had had an ulcer due the fact she would sleep in her earing-aid. I have reported on this many times, but the managment team would simply not listen to me. Another client has complain about cold today, for he had been woken up in the morning only to be left in his shirt (no socks on either) in the middle of the lounge (today I have had to put socks on everybody). And Mr. Thomas, another resident, has slept in his last night's dirty underpants (the clean ones had been left kicked to the side in his bed but one of the Home's managers had told me not to put it down in the report). I am scared, really, and I really do not know what to do. Though I am a first degree holder in Philosophy, I would not ask for qualifications in order to do this kind of job, but I do think a Home manager should have some kind of qualifications.
