God is supposed to be the beginning and the end. Surely therefore he transcends the notions of good and evil and these are merely ideas based on points of view.

something good to happen for someone else, who would it be and what would it be for? I would ask for peaches little boy to healed, for zenbuddha to find someone to love him,....I would have to many wishes to ask for but so many of you here make my heart hurt for you that I wish I could fix all things for all of you...no matter what your religion or lack thereof. Who does your heart hurt for?

Even those of you who are rude to me seem like family..everyone has at least one member of their family that rubs them the wrong way (some more than one LOL). i love you guys and I love this forum. I love the diversity and the silly bickering and banter here.

The Patriot Act started us on the road to loss of our rights, and went so far as to gag anyone who knew about a case, including the lawyer representing you.

The Military Commissions Act of 2006 took it farther. The President and Secretary of Defense can declare anyone - including citizens of the United States - an Unlawful Combatant.

No right to trial, no lawyer, no contact with loved ones, no right to hear the charges, no right to defend yourself, no phone call, nothing. You simply disappear.

Oh - and they can torture you too.

This is a true story about a recent wedding that took place at Clemson University. This was a huge wedding with over 300 guests. After the wedding at the reception, the groom got up on stage and took the microphone to talk to the crowd. He said that he wanted to thank everyone for coming, many from long distances, to support them at their wedding. He especially wanted to thank the bride's and groom's families for coming and to thank his new father-in-lawfor providing such a fabulous reception. To thank everyone for coming and bringing gifts and everything, he said he wanted to give everyone a special gift from just him. Taped to the bottom of everyone's chair (even the chairs of the wedding party) was a manila envelope. He said that was his gift to everyone, and told everyone to open their envelopes.

Inside each manila envelope was an 8x10 picture of his best man having sex with the bride.(He had gotten suspicious of the two of themand hired a private detective to trail them weeks prior to the wedding.) After he stood there and watched the people's reactions for a couple of minutes, he turned to the best man and said "F--- you !" he then turnedto the bride and said "F--- you !" and then he turned to the dumbfounded crowd and said....."Thanks, I'm out of here."

He had the marriage annulled first thing that Monday morning. While most of us would have broken off the engagement immediately after finding out about the affair, this guy goes through with it anyway as if nothing was wrong. His revenge:1) Making the bride's parents pay over $32,000 for a 300 guest wedding and reception. 2) Letting everyone know exactly what did happen.3) And best of all, trashing the bride's and best man's reputations in front of all of their friends, their parents, brothers, sisters, grandparents, nieces and nephews, etc....Ya gotta love this guy.

Please clarify this. I am listening to the Pimsleur language tapes in an attempt to increase my Spanish fluency. I've always known the Spanish language to be referred to as Español.

However, these tapes state that in Latin American countries, Castellano is preferred over Español. I have been to both Panama and Mexico, and no one to my knowledge has ever referred to Spanish as Castellano. However, I am headed to South America (Peru) in March, and don't know if Castellano or Español will be preferred.

I've done a bit of internet research, and have gotten some relatively solid answers, but I'm curious to know everyone's take on this. I don't want to be misinformed, and would love some answers from Spanish speakers around the world.

I had a 1st molar extracted yesterday. I am being very careful to follow the aftercare by my dentist. I'm not smoking, drinking through a straw, or doing anything else to encourage a dry socket. But yet I woke up this morning and cannot see the blood clot in the socket anymore. I can feel a jelly like substance but I see no clot. there is a slight ache in my jaw at the extraction site but it's not really painful.
are you suppose to see the blood clot? I look into the socket and all I can see is saliva, I see no clot. But it doesn't feel dry, it feels like there is a jelly substance there instead of a clot. Is this normal or am I starting to get a dry socket?
My dentist is closed today, otherwise I'd be calling him.

My partner left because I said harsh things in a depressed breakdown.. We had lived together for many years and been very happy - that's why my outburst was such a shock to her (it was to me). She says she loves and misses me but can't come back because I hurt her so badly that she can't trust me. I'm hoping that in time trust will build - we meet regularly and enjoy that. She has rented a flat and has a busy life, is coping with her job etc. From the outside so am I.

Two close friends say "Forget her - if she left she can't love you, whatever she says". But I do want to try to win her back, even if it takes time. Please advise me if you can.

I know someone who's eleven. He has no dad. His younger sister's father's parents love all of them to death but the father only dotes on the youngest kid.

The third youngest kid, Z, has a dad. That's who they're living with now.

Now there's a baby on the way (from Z's dad.)

How can I help my friend fit in with his family when he has no father?
