and in the US, you can be convicted of horrendous crimes and sit in a jail cell, fed daily, get lots of recreation and excersize for 10 -20 years until you gently fall asleep with a needle prick! Many of us would love the luxury of all that expense paid to us and never have to worry about a thing....i dont think many see that as punishment....if you say you will be hanged in 60 days, THAT would scare me.....how can hanging be considered "cruel and unusual" in our eyes....for the murder of hundereds, the torture Saddam commited....hanging him in the eyes of many Americans is CRUEL??? NO!.....Is it UNUSUAL? NO! .....The constiution was written when whippings (torture) was common! it was neither cruel or unusual.....now we have changed the way we interpret it......that is not acceptable UNLESS we can vote in our state to have a true definition of cruel and unusual.....Cut off a finger of a convicted shoplifter and see how much our crime rate drops! I bought a dvd/vhs combo to connect to my tv/vhs combo. My plan was to play to vhs in the tv combo while recording it to dvd in the dvd/vhs combo. My son says he doesnt think this will work and/or it will have poor quality. What do you think? Does anyone know of store nationwide (such as circuit city,etc) that might do that kind of thing...transferring vhs to dvd?

i am wearing orthotics and have been told by a retailer that runners provide best support for me i dont like the way the toes point up on runners i understand the reasoning behind it for a runnning shoe however i am concerned that the design may make my metartarsal pain worse as i do not intend to run

My neighbour says she was named in an Uncle `s will .She said he went to live abroad , and she has not heard from him in ages. She has written ,but had no reply.She is sure he must have passed away as they were really close .He had no other family so can she find out 1) Is he deceased 2) he lodged his will in this country so how can she find out where.?
She said she did not like to talk to him about when he died what was going to happen as she did not want to think about him dying.Can anyone help ?

He has been destructive in his bedroom,scratching his name into furniture,destroying his own belongings.Yesterday I found 2 lighters & some burnt paper in his bedroom.It's as if he's crying out for help but hasn't been able to tell me.He said he didn't want to upset me.He says he hates it when his friends talk about where they go & what they do with their dads.I have made an appointment with our doctor to see if we can get some bereavement counselling for him.It's breaking my heart to see him so distressed.

my gardener hasnt been well. As I was clearing up I discovered a pile of jelly-like balls, about the size of frog-spawn (or that really large tapioca) in the middle of the lawn. There was about 2 large cupfulls and they were clear, dark-green colour. Any idea what on earth it could be? I live in Northern Ireland. Thought perhaps slugs but I read they lay up to 35 eggs underground at a time. There were hundreds of these jelly balls and they were on top of the grass !
