they once broke up and i thought that maybe we would get together then he went back with her. i claims to be so much in love with me buts he is not making any effort for us to be together. he has been my bestfriend for years and i always knew that i loved him but never really told him until now. and it seems that now that i told him i regret it because i put my feeling out there only for him to take advantage of them. i really feels like he is the one i would love to spend the rest of my life with.

Seems like your friend likes the position he's in-2 women both wanting him, including his best friend.
My philosophy is that I am not a choice, I am either the one or I'm not. If someone has to think about whether or not they want to be with me, then its a waste of my time trying to be with them. There is nothing more degrading then having to wate around for seconds.
I suggest just talking to him about it. It sounds like your friendship might get a little fuzzy though.

you are very weak in thinking as well as decission making, how can you turn to be in love to a friend?
if it is due to frustrations then try me, am not your friend but a neutral guy.
stop going out with him because your image will be totaly destroyed. why not go for someone, God can give you if you ask him to do so.

the only reason you are feeling like that is because you allow yourself to. he doesnt try- you know that- and it just is so obvious he regards you just as the best friend.
at times we think our best friends understand us the most and perhaps make themthe best partners to be with us. but some best friends are only best as friends; anything more, they become someone else.
