A balll of mass m=60 g is shot with speed vi=22 m/s into the barrel of a spring gun of mass M= 240 g initially at rest on a frictionless surface. The ball sticks in the barrel at the point of maximum compression of the spring. Assume that the increase in the thermal energy due to friction between the ball and the barrel is negligible.

(A) What is the speed of the spring gun after the ball stops in the barrel?

(B) What fraction of the initial kinetic energy of the ball is stored in the spring?

The answers are:

(A) 2.35 x 10^3 J

(B) 352 J

But I don't know how to get these answers, please help me!

my friend had sex with her boyfriend using withdrawal. then, she fears she's prego. she wakes up early (5am) to get to school but wants to sleep for a few minutes. she doesn't vomit in her first week. she usually gets fat easily even before her first sexual intercourse, and her stomach decreases a bit when she doesn't eat too much. she doesn't urinate frequently. her bowel movement hasn't changed. when she came back home from school, she had a mild headache since it was too hot outside.

This is more of a rant than a question, but I'm willing to entertain rational arguments. Why do Flash web designers see fit to create their own scrollbars that don't function the same as normal scrollbars, in that A) they have no arrows to scroll a line at a time; and B) don't scroll up or down a page when you click the empty space below the bar, forcing you to drag the bar as the only possible way to scroll the text? (See http://www.cit.cmu.edu) WHAT ARE THESE PSYCHO PEOPLE THINKING? What in creation would possess them to do this? Are there not existing scrollbar widgets that function properly that they can use? Is this a Flash defect of some sort? Is this some perverse Web fashion trend -- the cyberspace equivalent of neckties or high heels? Who is responsible for this and can I string them up until all the blood rushes to their heads and makes them dizzy and sick?

This is a pretty weird problem, I think. My husband is loving and kind and a great husband, but he doesn't want sex as much as I do. I'm not ugly or fat and I do a lot to try and turn him on and we do have sex, but I initiate it. I want him to do this. It makes me feel so unsexy! I know he has been stressed at work and he used to work out more often. I know these are playing factors, but what can I do from my end? He claims nothing is wrong. We have been trying to get pregnant for several months now. I am 20 years old. I have an average 28 day cycle and I had my period on Oct. 21st. I know that I just ovulated a few days ago and we had sex that whole week. I usually get really sore breasts for a few days before my period. Right now my breasts are beginning to get really sore. This is strange because I shouldnt start my period for another couple of weeks. I know that sore breasts are a sign of pregnancy but is it too early? I am not stressing about this I just want to know if it is or not! Thank you!!!

Okay the first thing I say when I tell people i have liek a big forhead, they say bangs. But i have bangs! annd they are getting so odl cause i have pretty much had them since i was born. i also have a round/square face soo straight across bangs are very unflattering. I mean, i'd get side bangs but my forhead sticks out, its not really high, just round. i guess all there is is to get side bangs. i just really need helpppp!!!!
