They will likely not finish high school. They may, with the help of resource and aid...though these people will not move on to higher education.

Males in this area have a very high chance of getting involved with crime and drugs, and women getting pregnant very young, which might also effect wether or not they get help with their education and finish school.

So naturally you would expect most of these people to end up in jobs that don't require education.

It is estimated that 35 percent of all people with an IQ of that range will drop out of high school. Not to say that they can't, of course; after all, they are just numbers. But, as they are among the highest dropout rates in terms of IQ, the chances are much higher that a person of that caliber will not finish high school.

I would think that a person with an IQ of 85-90 would become whatever they wished to be--that is, if they pushed their intellect to the limit and tried EXTREMELY hard.

I think that a person with a limited mental capacity should be psychologically tested in a careful but open-minded manner. Some people like this have abilities that aren't discovered until one day when the person, for example, decides to pick up a paint brush and create something truly astounding. The person may not be a savant, but it wouldn't hurt to see what's there. I think someone should let the student explore things a bit and see what he or she likes. Who knows what the person may discover? Everyone deserves a chance.

That IQ is only a little below average (for starting HS) & well above a moronic score. Sounds to me more like somebody who wont vs somebody who cant.
