I'm writing an essay for college about the history of the English language. I'm having a difficult time understanding the difference between the different accents in England before the Norman conquest and the different dialects in England after the Norman conquest. Could someone help explain the difference between accents and dialects? My dictionary only says that accents are different styles of pronunciation and dialects are different forms of pronunciation... and this still leaves me confused.

The car was so nice and it's driving me crazy not knowing what it was. I have a pic of just the back of it but nobody I know has any idea. In the past, the Christians (or Catholics) had burned the Witches. Some of them even being their own followers and childeren. Tell me, is this right? Is this the love you speak of? What had you against us Witches? We do not worship the Devil or Beast. We are kind and noble people who try to help when we can. After the first day I met him he was writing notes to me. He always ask me for help in geometry and his mom teaches geometry. He tickles everytime i see him and makes up nicknames for me. Waits for me to come in to class or waits by my locker. He gives me complimants sometimes. But when I first met him I knew he had a crush on one of my best friends (but she already had a boyfriend and didn't like him like that. people says he likes me but i am not sure if he does.

And furthermore, Why the hell are they sending the kids to boot camp, when the obvious cause of the problem is the lazy Overweight mother?? Shouldn't that hyperactive black drill sargeant guy be screaming at them for allowing their child to become such a burden on society? i'm 24, and i almost want to move back home while i go to school... we live on opposite ends of the country, because i hate my hometown. my parents will not move to where i am, so that is out of the question. i call my mom about 5 times a day, i miss them so much! and i've been gone for 5 years! anyone else my age going through this? how do you squelch the feeling? i know i'm a grown adult and i need to live my life and just visit my family when i can, but i cant shake this feeling of wanting to move back home.

I feel like a cat. It's weird, I feel like I should have a tail, walk on all fours, and do cat-like things. It's confusing and I remember that when I was younger, I used to think I was a cat. I've felt like this lately for a while. When I'm cuddling with my boyfriend, I feel like purring; when someone annoys me, I feel like hissing or growling (heh, I never realized that cats growl until I heard one several days ago); and I just feel cat-like much of the time. In fact, I actually growled at my mom a while ago when she was getting on my nerves. I didn't even mean to, I just did it. She looked at me as if I was some sort of freak or something. Am I going crazy? Does anyone else have similiar feelings?
