Who is your favorite Murder Mystery detective?

Either Nick Charles (The Thin Man), or Sherlock Holmes. But there are so many others it's hard to choose a favorite.

Matt Scudder in Lawrence Block's novels. An amazing progression from down and out alcoholic through AA while solving murders with awesome dialogue.
