Question

I feel like a cat. It's weird, I feel like I should have a tail, walk on all fours, and do cat-like things. It's confusing and I remember that when I was younger, I used to think I was a cat. I've felt like this lately for a while. When I'm cuddling with my boyfriend, I feel like purring; when someone annoys me, I feel like hissing or growling (heh, I never realized that cats growl until I heard one several days ago); and I just feel cat-like much of the time. In fact, I actually growled at my mom a while ago when she was getting on my nerves. I didn't even mean to, I just did it. She looked at me as if I was some sort of freak or something. Am I going crazy? Does anyone else have similiar feelings?

Yes, there are others who hold similar feelings. Typically, they tend to refer to themselves as otherkin or therianthropes. You might want to do a search on those terms, and find some information - even if that doesn't describe you well, or you feel you don't fit in, it might provide some things to think over.

No you are not going crazy, some people have links to different types of animals, and others could have been that animal in a past life. It is totally normal. My husband has the same addicting problem with cats and myself a mouse.

My daughter, in her younger years liked to pretend she was a cat. She was into the Egyptian thing for a while as well, (the cat goddess) or whatever. Dressed up like her for Halloween too.

I have met other folk in my lifetime who would act likewise (catlike). Never thought much about it till now! Hmm, wonder how many also believed that the Sasquatch exist?

Thus, me thinks many folk believe as you do. Not a prob!

Oh yes.
But as for you no you are not going crazy in the sense that you mean.
you might have a cat totem sprirt. but then alot of women seem to have these traits also. its called nesting. and you feel content and happy when things are going good. but rub your fur the wrong way and watch out for the claws and teeth.
You will most likely be a good mother and very protective of your children.

Native Americans believe in Totem Animal spirit guides or what is called "Animal Wisdom" and have done so for generations. There is Nothing evil or wrong about it. The Cat spirit guide has been equated to "Independence". You may want to look into this as your spirit guide may be trying to communicate with you. No your not going crazy i understand where you are coming from. When i'm extremely happy or sad i howl at the moon. when some one make me very angry i growl and snarl at them. I used to act like a dog all the time when i was younger. i think i was a dog and more specifically a wolf in a past life.

I think we all have a certain spirit animal that guides us. I have a really profound connection with raccoons. I often fish the way raccoons do by just grabbing fish out of the water. I think in a world where we have forgotten that we are animals we often experience our own animal nature through mimicing other animals. I used to know someone who would neigh like a horse when she was happy. My grandma used to cawk like a crow when she was mad. My cousin whimpers like an injured puppy at funerals. I think your animal emotion is jsut showing through. I'm not sure though. Perhaps you are becoming catwoman.

I don't think you're a freak! I think you are quite special! Seriously, a real cat woman! Maybe you like cats and like being one. Do what you want to do. If you like being a cat, perhaps you just ignore everyone's comments. But if you want to be a normal person, contact a psychiatrist, they are very serious to you problems but it depends if you can afford the price.

a friend of mine has this thing for dragons, i have this thing about ladybugs.

i was told that everyone has an animal that represents them, and it is different for everyone.

i think it is as simple as your animal is a cat.
besides, how bad is that? i think cats are cool.

I would just research cats and find out what they represent...probably something like freedom and friendship.

after all, aren't cats the animals that choose their own people?
