Ive been reading Hawkings "Brief History of Time" and it occured to me how comparable modern day resistance to evolution is with previous resistance to Galieo's model of the Universe.

Follow me here....the main reason 'sun centered' models were rejected was because they implied an 'insignificance' to our little slot of space in the universe. Understanably, people thought that the earth was the center of the entire cosmos and the entire cosmos was no bigger than several planets.

So, the resistance was largely due to the spirtual ramifications or the larger philisophical question about mans significance. If earth is the center, and the universe is only so many plants long, then humans must have some great purpose or significance...all revolves around us.

How difficult it was to finally realize that the stars twinkling in the sky...WERE ACTUALLY SUNS FROM OTHER UNIVERSES! Ahh...our significance is diminished.

Three friends pool money for a DVD - it cost 15 dollars. They go to another friends shop and ask him for a discount - he is not there so they are charged 15 dollars for the DVD. After they leave their friend comes back and tells his assistant to return 5 dollars to the three friends, the assistant pockets 2 dollars, returning just 3 dollars to the three friends. So each friend gets back 1 dollar and ends up just spending 4 dollars for the DVD. 4x3=12 So that means the DVD actually cost them 12 dollars. Add this to the amount pocketed by the assistant and it is 12 + 2 = 14 and not 15 dollars so tell me where did the other 1 dollar go?

A father watched his young daughter playing in the garden. He smiled as he reflected on how sweet and pure his little girl was. He thought about her seeing the wonders of nature through such innocent eyes. Suddenly she just stopped and stared at the ground. He went over to her to see what work of God had captured her attention. He noticed she was looking at two spiders mating.
"Daddy, what are those two spiders doing?" she asked.

"They're mating," her father replied.
"What do you call the spider on top?" she asked.
Daddy longlegs he replied
"So, the other one is a Mommy Longlegs?" the little girl asked.

As his heart soared with the joy of such a cute and innocent question,
He replied "No dear. Both of them are Daddy Longlegs."

The little girl, looking a little puzzled, thought for a moment, then, raised her foot and stomped them flat and said, "Well, we're not having any of that Brokeback-Mountain crap in our garden."

I have my hair cut to my shoulders it is blonde and I wanted something a little different. I was thinking about getting the very tips on my ends died dark brown or black. I know it is hard to explain but some of the styles now have darker underneath and like halfway down, I was just wondering if this could look professional at all?

me and my bestfriend had a little fight and now she won't talk to me. tell you the truth she wasn't really a friend, she would always stop being my friend, hang out with someone who didn't like me and them two would make fun of me. then she's be back to being my friend. Ok I just asked the sex question and will give more info for better answers. 1st I am 22 and my bf is 27. He has only been with 4 girls before me, and I have been with a few more. His equipment is average at best. If you think I should teach him, plz give me advice on how to broach the subject without hurting his feelings. Also I totally think we could have a future together and he has actually already asked me to move in with him, so I want to work things out, but dont want an unsatisfying sex life. my programmes freeze up a lot lately and some have crashed. been re-directed to msn downloads but to be honest don't find there site particularly informative, or anything they suggest i have tried. it happens mostly when i am on the net and i defrag, remove adware, spyware and all the other stuff that is recommended. am i missing something? my son told me that firefox is the way to go. anyone else of the same opinion or had similar problems and resolved, and if so how. thanks for help

Then they go back in the cave and try and convince those who have become so comfortable staring at those shadows that they refuse to follow them outside into the actual sunlight?
