That some moments in our history are so great they exist solely to be captured on film to be shared throughout the generations?
I feel this way whenever I see the picture of the crowds dancing on top of the Berlin Wall, or Neil Armstrong first setting foot on the moon. Also some things are just so iconic they become a part of our shared heritage; the poster of a jump-suited Elvis everyone has on their bedroom wall (not literally everyone..), or Steve McQueen about to jump over the wire on his motorbike in The Great Escape.
