In Dallas/Fort Worth area can hold a minimum of 500 people and doesnt charge an outrageous price. Something elegant yet not so fairy tale like. I dont want to spend the rest of my life getting out of debt over my wedding. But still want to make it something to remeber.

500 people? If you are having 500 people then you should be hiring a wedding planner and not asking on yahoo!
Thats a lot of people which means lots of food, lots for drinks, lots of favors and lots of invites.
Most places only hold about 250 people.... so you def want a wedding planner for that many people
And your figuring 500 people x 100 (the average per plate with drinks) a head = 50,000 dollars!!!
What's your idea of an outrageous price?

Try a garden, a state/city park, or a place with a lake. I would suggest to find an indoor reception site though. The cost of renting a tent, tables, chairs, platewear, silverware, stemware, napkins, etc. would cost more than to rent a place that a majority of that would be included with the price. Good Luck and have a great day!

Consider choosing a pretty park...it's outdoors and can accomodate many guests, the setting is beautiful so very little decorating is involved, and the parks gazebo makes a lovely place to take your vows
